With the new effects disney put in for Happily Ever After I would say the new show will be better. The DIS has a video on youtube of the old one btw. I think the new one will better because they can use lasers and searchlights now. and I really love the searchlights.

I saw this in News and Rumors. I've never been to one of the ticketed events, but I'm flying in for a short trip (3 1/2 days) in September and staying with friends at the Fort. I'm debating on getting a 2 day ticket and going to MNSSHP on one night (cheaper than 3 day ticket) or getting a 3 day ticket and skipping MNSSHP. My dilemma is I really like HEA and want to see it again too, especially with our friends we are meeting who have never been to WDW.

I need opinions on whether MNSSHP and the new fire works show are worth potentially missing HEA this trip. I'm still debating on getting hopper tickets or not. Just trying to make this a frugal Disney trip. Although I probably shouldn't be too cheap. The whole trip is likely covered on Disney Visa points.

Never been to one eaither, just looked at some web sights that rate the firework shows, the parties are always rated good. Plus the parade looks pretty cool. Who , knows.... if it were me i would do the party. Since your friends have never been, even if its not better , they will never know the difference. And you will get to see something diffrent.

Definitely go to MNSSHP. The special parties at Disney are amazing. And if the new fireworks show follows the old one, there will be 180° fireworks. Also, if you plan on coming back again in the future and you live in Florida it might be worth buying a silver pass. The cost of a silver pass is close to the cost of 4 MK tickets. It's a way better deal and you get free parking / discounts on certain food and merch

Thanks Baymax,

We had APs until September last year, but decided to take a year off... until our friends said they were going. :-) We aren't FL residents (IL actually)

My DS and I watched MNSSHP fireworks from the top of the Contemporary last September. The nearly 360 degree fireworks were pretty cool, even from that angle.

I have until June 9th (60 day FP window) to decide. I'd like to see the party, but still would like 3 day hoppers... I'm just too cheap.

Remember, there's more than just fireworks as MNSSHP. They have candy stops where they give you handfuls of candy, they have decorations, shows, an awesome parade, and they recently started theming some of the rides (like turning every single light off inside of space mountain) its also fun to look at people's costumes.
