New FD become general?

If there is no pin...can we just call and let them know we are past guests and see if they will apply it to our package? That would be awesome
We have not booked yet, but we are tempted to call and tell them we will book today for November if they will give it to us.

Nope, Disney doesn't work that way. You can ask if you have one attached to your name, but they won't give you one for asking.

If the free dining becomes available and I get to book it, can I change my dining option later? I mean if I book it only with the regular dining plan but then want to upgrade to the deluxe at a later date could I (pay the difference between the two, of course)

Or is it once I book it with regular dining I would have to cancel the regular dining reservation and re-book with the deluxe - I am not changing resorts.
