New FD become general?

My guess is that the dates will be very similar or the same. I would like a little variance, but what I want and get usually are 2 different things.

Last year when the FD was announced for the last quarter of 2011 I believe it was not until much later in June or early July such that dinner reservations were often difficult to get as we were already within the 180 ADR window. This year, with the PIN code, we are able to make dinner reservations the first day they are available and can make them for the entire remainder of the stay. Hoping to get some prime time reservations at hard to get locations - O'Hana's, Le Cellier, etc. I doubt that the general public FD offering will be made with that much advance notice - more like last year.

Yes. There is always a ticket purchase requirement as part of the terms of the free dining promotions. For the past couple of years, it's been 2 day MYW tickets. The good news is that those tickets are good forever (until first use) and can be used towards the renewal of your APs next year.
So let's say you have an AP that goes from September 15, 2012 to September 15, 2013. You can book a 9 day package the last week of September 2012, only buy 2 day base tickets, get FD, then in September 2013 use the tickets from 2012 to help pay for your AP renewal?
Almost a year later?

.

I'll be so relieved when it does come out, I am so sick of checking all my stupid yahoo accounts for the elusive pin code I have so far not gotten!

Don't know about Yahoo mail, but Gmail has an option in the settings to let you forward your incoming mail to a different account. You could forward them all to just one account, so you don't have to check them all!

I bet it will be before.

Last year it came out in early Aug. The year before it came out in early July.

Yes. Have those tickets taken off the KTTW and keep them in a safe place.

I've already got JetBlue booked for 12/7. Called on Friday 5/25 and was told that there where no PINS under my name/address but that a general offer for FD would be "announced soon". I'm betting that I'm probably screwed because my Friday 12/7 arrival date is still within the Pop Warner period and FD may not be offered until Saturday or even the following Monday, but we'll see. We went the week after Thanksgiving in 2010 (not too crowded), the first week of December 2011 (more crowded due to PW), and wanted to try the second week of December this year.

If that first night or two are not covered, you can always do a room only reservation, then switch over to a fd reservation. We did this for our nights in March. We checked in on Thursday, fd started on Saturday. We were able to pick up our park tickets without a problem from our resort guest services, then pay out of pocket for our meals. We had to then recheck in on Saturday and our dining credits and the rest of our ticket days were then added to our new KTTW cards.

We had to do this same thing back in October of 2010. As did our friends that were there the same time frame.

Its easy and worth it to get the free dining for the rest of the trip, and so far we have never had a problem with picking up our park tickets early.

I am soooo frustrated! I have read that tons of ppl are getting the FD PIN and even ppl are calling w/o PINS and getting FD, I have called everyday, even said the same things that they say and nothing...I WANT SOME PIXIE DUST!!!!!! ok rant over

Don't feel bad I'm blacklisted also. I never ever get pins. I do however try to book bounceback for the following year so I don't need to stress about FD ( and yes I would stress LOL).

I'm hoping to book bounceback again this year for FD. Hoping there is one again. I don't know last year if there was a BB after the AUG/Sept that was in the rooms.

If they dont include my dates I will be canceling some dining reservations:sad:

I'm in the same situation as u & it's no fun at all:sad1:

I am booked coming in the 29th of Sept but I would really like to push it out a few days and arrive Tues or Wed of the following week. I am watching for an extended offer!

That's a great idea - but exactly how would it work if we arrive on a Friday and FD doesn't start until the following Monday? I understand I would book an FD package beginning that Monday thru the end of our stay the following Saturday (5 nights with 5 days of free dining), and separate room-only reservations for Friday/Saturday/Sunday night (3 nights with out-of-pocket dining), but how would I purchase park-hoppers that would be valid for the entire 9 days?
