New FD become general?

What does everyone think about the new FD floating around? Will it become available to the general public??

I think it will. I got the email yesterday with PIN for free dining and it was worded different than some of the others I've gotten by saying "get a first look at a tasty fall offer!" To me that appears to be worded like I get a jump on booking but it will be coming out soon. Just my thoughts.

We went last November for our first trip and I'd love to go back but right now there is nothing scheduled, yet I still lurk the boards and love getting PIN codes! I might try to talk my husband into a girls trip this November since I got the PIN. We'll see.

I received a free dining pin and went to my AAA to have her adjust it. She said usually it becomes available to the general public about 2 weeks after all the pins come out so

Any idea if it will become available for different dates or if the dates listed for the pin will be those listed for GP? We are scheduled to check in on 10/5 right now and those dates are not listed. I could change our trip to check in on 10/4 instead. If I did that would I get free dining for the entire trip? We are also staying at AoA but could change resorts if needed. HELP!

My opinion...June 18th ish. There are a couple discounts that expire June 14th (?), so I am guessing right after that. I am HOPING....I have a trip booked Oct 21, for 14 days at poly with hopes of a FD discount. If not, will have to shorten it a bit. PLEEEEAAASE DISNEY?????????????

My crystal ball is telling me that yes it will become a public offer but not exactly the same as the pin. Differences may be in the dates (if they get enough bookings for particular dates then they'll be blacked out from a public offer), or differences may be in the requirements (maybe a larger minimum number of nights or an additional purchase requirement like last year's photo book). I just don't think it'll be EXACTLY the same as the pins. Again, that's just my prediction and I have absolutely no inside knowledge.

Yes. There is always a ticket purchase requirement as part of the terms of the free dining promotions. For the past couple of years, it's been 2 day MYW tickets. The good news is that those tickets are good forever (until first use) and can be used towards the renewal of your APs next year.

FD is a coming - book it Danno. I am wondering what the dates will be. I have seen different dates people are giving here on the PINs they have. I miss the days when we could get FD the Saturday before Thanksgiving so we could get FD for the whole week.

I too think it will come out as a GP offer. I also agree the dates may be different and then who knows, they may change the dates for the GP a time or two, adding and subtracting dates. Last year, the GP offer for October came out in August, our friends got that but had to do a room only night the first night. Then a bit later,that night was added so they were able to cancel the room only and adjust thier fd offer to cover their whole trip.

I really hope they offer this for everyone, it saves my family of four the very most, far more than our current 30% bounceback offer.

I'll be so relieved when it does come out, I am so sick of checking all my stupid yahoo accounts for the elusive pin code I have so far not gotten!

Me too! I have 6 emails to check! Since I am in charge of planning for all 11 ppl in our group, they all leave this PIN stuff to me! Thats so nice of them isnt it

I think it will. The dates are really targeted and limited, just the sort of thing I would expect to see. There are only 4 covered check-in days in December.

I really hope you are all correct. My current room-only offer did save me $360 on our two rooms for 5 nights at AS Sp, but FD would save our group of 6 Disney adults/1 child over $1100.

I did get a FD pin, so it saved my family alot of $$$$. We are booked to stay at CBR!!!!!! 10 nights!!! the cruise for 3 nights!!! Awesome!

I sure hope they extend FD to everyone!

I've already got JetBlue booked for 12/7. Called on Friday 5/25 and was told that there where no PINS under my name/address but that a general offer for FD would be "announced soon". I'm betting that I'm probably screwed because my Friday 12/7 arrival date is still within the Pop Warner period and FD may not be offered until Saturday or even the following Monday, but we'll see. We went the week after Thanksgiving in 2010 (not too crowded), the first week of December 2011 (more crowded due to PW), and wanted to try the second week of December this year.

From what I've seen, the discounts made available to the general public usually have less availability than those which are offered to targeted groups (e-mailed pins, APs, military etc).

The dates available are very interesting to me. I guess since they allow you to get it for your whole stay they only have to offer it on nights that they're really struggling. December 10-13 will pretty much get all the Free Dining people out before Christmas hits 10-13 days later, especially since the longest stay you can do without splitting a reservation is 14 nights. It simply reinforces their unspoken policy of not giving discounts during the busiest time of the year.
