New Fantasy Land Opening - who is going? Update!

PCC stands for podcast cruise. PCC 4.0 leaves on 12/8. I will be there on an early flight on 12/7. And I will hopefully be heading to MK first.

When are the passholder preview dates?

Some time in November. The info on the passholder section of DisneyWorld.com says:

New Fantasyland Passholder Preview

Be among the first to experience the enchantment of New Fantasyland during a special Passholder Preview in November 2012! Upon completion, Fantasyland will nearly double in size – for the largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom Park.

Registration details are coming soon and will be communicated via email and here on the Passholder website. Event capacity is limited, so be sure to watch for these updates! Valid Magic Kingdom Theme Park admission is required to attend this event.

Saw this announcement on the Facebook page and immediately tried online to book dinner at Be Our Guest for our trip at the end if January...but it wasn't even listed as a restaurant choice yet. Does anyone know if they're taking reservations over the phone? If not, has anyone heard when they'll be taking reservations?

Late August: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...e-our-guest-restaurant-at-magic-kingdom-park/

Speaking of Be Our Guest Restaurant, who plans on making reservations when they become available in late August? When do you want to dine?

My family and I were driving up to MK on 12/6/12 and staying one night at the ft wilderness cabins. Now I'm afraid of the crowds and possibly the park reaching capacity before we get there. Would it make more sense to go Monday instead? We would get in early with the magic hour on Thursday and th e park closes early for the party. Do you think Monday 12/10-Tuesday 12/11 would be a better time to go?

Ugh.
:confused3

Not until February 2013... but I'm glad almost everything will be opened by then. I don't need to be there the first day it's open - that's just going to be insanity ;)

If Disney has a brain they are going to make a BIG deal out of the Grand Opening and it is going to be MOBBED. I can easily see MK closing to capacity, this is going to get alot of press, I would think about switching to 12/10. I think there will still be crowds even then, but not like 12/6.

Update in Post 1 - attendee list as of 8/26/12

We're gonna try and go on the 7th after our plane comes in. Hopefully the park won't be at capacity.

I plan to go to the Christmas party the night of Dec. 6th. I'm hoping the new Fantasyland will be open that night.

I was able to make a dinner reservation at Be Our Guest for Dec. 3rd, so it will obviously be open before the "grand" opening.

we changed our plans to universal on the 6th and mk on the 7th then hop to epcot for pm emh.....hope to see some of you there! and of course the next morning on the cruise :)

I've updated the first post.

Also noted when looking at the calendar that by some weird coincidence the official FL opening is on Pete's Birthday. Maybe somebody at Disney has been listening. ;)

My wife (Holleypie here on the DIS) and I will be there celebrating her birthday.

It's my goal for the day to get on that ride

I hope to ride Little Mermaid after the cruise, when I have more time to hang out.

Now, if by some miracle the wait isn't too long- I'll be happy to ride! I am just not setting my expectations too high.
I will be thrilled with a nice walk through and an opportunity to snap some pictures and get a "feel" for our new land! :goodvibes:
