Is anyone else creeped out by the new additions ("news feed") to Facebook?? I mean, seriously there is a point when there is TOO MUCH information. I feel like I'm being stalked now. :confused3

haha, I haven't used facebook in a while, but I've heard that the new features are really creepy/stalkerific, so I might not be going back to using facebook haha

Yes, it's obnoxious. I don't like it at all.

Ricky is using the Disboards. 11:52am "How did you know that?"
Ricky is scratching his head. 11:53am "Stop that!"
Ricky is now really angry with facebook. 11:53am "Darn right I am"
Ricky will continue to use facebook because it controlls his life. 11:54am "Darn it"
Ricky is now eating an orange. 11:55am "Would you stop already!"
Ricky is now eating lunch. 12:58pm "It even predicts the future"

Wow I was just playing around with facebook, that seriously is a major pain. I HATE how to get rid of those things you have to click to delete each one individually. I've heard nothing but bad things for about a million different people about this feature though, so I'm sure that facebook will be getting PLENTY of complaints and we won't have to put up with this annoying idea for too long.

Mark Zuckerberg (creator of Facebook) put up an "open letter" today and hopefully we'll all get some of our privacy back!!!

I HATE the new Facebook features... It's so creepy! you guys made me laugh about it though... Why do people need to know if I join or leave a group, send a friend a message or write on their wall. If I wanted someone else to know what I wrote to another friend, I would have written to the nosy friend in the first place... Now I'm off to go read this Zuckerberg letter...

I think it's funny people are talking about how all the changes are invading their privacy and yet people put down their address, telephone numbers, birthdays, etc.

It's basically 'Stalkbook' now. haha. thankfully they added in the privacy stuff...

But seriously, the new facebook was the talk of the campus yesterday... it was really funny how many conversations I had about it or overheard in dining hall about it. :)
And how many groups were started about it? like a hundred? lol

Its stupid that people are making a big deal out of it. You can make things private or not so if you dont and dont like the new features your just stupid for keeping everything so public.

i just feel that the new features are just lame. i honestly don't care who friends who and exactly what people updated. i liked the old tough way of stalking... without any help! :lmao:

I hate it too, good thing I like and use myspace more!

i love facebook i was upset w the new changes but i just put the privacy on now

That's so true..

At first I hated the mini-feed feature, but now I've kind of gotten used to it.

Facebook shouldn't have messed with success -- the old setup worked just fine! All I know is that I really don't want my every action documented for everyone to see. :tiptoe:

I hate to say it, but all the "changes" were actually just the inclusion of stuff their system tracks anyways. With a few clicks they can get a complete profile of any one of us. How much time we spend on our own page, whether we like pictures or reading profiles, how much time we spend on any given page, and even in some cases which sites we get to facebook by.

Myspace is worse.

People need to remember that for anything free, you're name is worth 100 bucks. This is the information age and information is more valuable than ever before thanks to computers.

Now, personally, I didn't like the changes because I felt like they made the interface sucky and didn't have options to gain "privacy". They seem to have fixed both of those so I'm back to being semi happy with facebook and jubilant that it's not anywhere near as sleezy and crappy as web 0.5 myspace.

Honestly, now that I'm kindof used to the whole mini-feed feature, I'm kind of glad that it's there, it makes compulsive facebook checkers like me see if anything has changed since I had last checked the site (15 minutes ago or so lol) Plus, now that they've added the privacy menu where you can disable everything if you'd like, I really don't have a problem with it anymore.

I didn't use the old Facebook so I can't really compare but I don't see what the big deal is. I like the feeds, personally. I think it's fun. And if you don't like it, you can always fiddle with your privacy settings. Was that not always the case?

I agree. I think it's pretty bad that everyone can see your every move.. things you decline, things you accept.. I hate it. I wish it would go back to the way it was.
