We have just had the latest press release from the Eurostar press office, highlighting an increase in the direct services to DLP this summer. Here's what they say:

AS IF BY MAGIC – EUROSTAR INTRODUCES EXTRA DIRECT SERVICES TO DISNEYLAND RESORT PARIS FOR THE SUMMER

Eurostar direct services to Disneyland Resort Paris grow in popularity - 33,000 extra Eurostar seats

Departure times and through fares ideal for travellers from UK regions; Tickets go on sale on Tuesday 18 March 2008

Eurostar, the high-speed passenger train service linking the UK with mainland Europe, will introduce for the summer extra new services between St Pancras International/Ashford International and Disneyland Resort Paris, starting on Thursday 18 July 2008. These extra trains will provide an additional 33,000 seats to and from the resort and tickets go on sale on 18 March 2008.

The daily direct services to Disneyland Resort Paris have always been popular and the demand has increased further with the opening of St Pancras International and the launch of High Speed 1, the UK’s first 186 mph line, last November.

The extra direct trains will run on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from London St Pancras International/Ashford International and on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from Disneyland Resort Paris.

To celebrate the introduction of the extra services Eurostar is hosting a Disney extravaganza at its Bluewater store over the Easter weekend. The Disney jazz band will be on hand to entertain shoppers and there will be competitions and giveaways for children.

Eurostar’s Director of Communications, Simon Montague, commented: “These extra services will make it even easier for families and friends to visit Europe’s leading tourist attraction during the summer holidays. The midday departure times are ideal for travellers living in towns and cities beyond London, who can buy through fares and use domestic rail to St Pancras International, King’s Cross and Euston to connect with Eurostar high-speed trains”.

The timetable will be as follows:

From St Pancras International to Disneyland Resort Paris

Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 18 July to 23 August

From Disneyland Resort Paris to St Pancras International

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 21 July to 26 August
St Pancras International 12h49 Marne la Vallée Chessy* 14h40**
Ashford International 13h24 Ashford International 15h36**
Marne la Vallée Chessy* 16h17 St Pancras International 16h11**

* Marne la Vallée Chessy is the station at the gates of the Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios and the Disneyland Village.

** On 18, 19 and 25 August, the train will depart at 15h40, call at Ashford International at 16h36 and arrive in St Pancras International at 17h11

Disneyland Resort Paris is 2 hours and a half away from London and two hours from Ashford International. The station Marne la Vallée Chessy is only a few steps away from the gates of the two theme parks Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios.

Fares on the direct services start from £59 return and children under the age of 4 travel for free. Tickets are available from Eurostar.com or 08705 186 186.

WOW!!! This is great! Sadly we're going away for 5 weeks after the school finishes and can't use this offer...:sad2:

Thanks for that!

Now I'm desperately trying to talk myself out of a sneaky summer trip... :lmao:

me too annette!
keep thinking if i call staright away tomorrow i coud get some cheap seats and spend a couple days out there.....

Its great news, I wish though they did an earlier train then the one they have now as that would allow people a longer day on the park for day trips.

May have to pop along to Bluewater this weekend:goodvibes

has anyone taken advantage of these extra trains yet?

Will be interesting to see how many seats are at the "from £59 ...." they are quoting ... call me cynical, but I guess not many (mabye just the Train Drivers) !

Hopefully this will be a success. I remember when the direct Eurostar trains were just a couple of times a week and only during peak periods, then when they realised they were on to a good thing it became every day all the time. Maybe if these new trains sell out we'll be looking at two trains a day all year in the not too distant future?

yes i wonder also, i checked some times and the cheapest price i found for the lter direct train was £32.50 each way, so not bad at all!

I have usually found Eurostar to be pretty good with their offers. I've travelled on the direct service for £59 a couple of years back.
