Sorry if this question has already been asked, I just don't have time to read this entire thread haha.
We stayed at the Swan for a few nights around New Year's '04. While there, I fell in love... with the pillows!!!
Do any of you know where to buy the "Heavenly Pillows" if anywhere?

Thanks so much!
From the Pillow Lover.

I've stayed at Deluxes, Moderates and Values. We just had our first stay at the Dolphin and it was, by far, our favorite resort. With my teacher discount it was also a great deal. We'll never stay at anything other than the Swan/Dolphin again.

I know the feeling!!! Look at my history and where I'M going back very soon. I can't wait!!!!!

Hi :) I read this on another thread and wanted to post it here..

Just returned from a weeks stay at SWAN!They have Dive in Movies there!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

"We just returned from our 2 week vacation and spend a week at Swan and a Week at Saratoga Springs.

They offer lots of fun poolside games at the grotto pool in the afternoon but something new we enjoyed was the Dive-In movie Saturday night "Finding Nemo". They set it up really nicely in the cave area where the waterfall is and looked so neat with the big screen under it. They gave everyone Tubes to sit on in the water while watching the movie and sold Popcorn and drinks. The movie started at 8:45 pm.

Looks like Swan/Dolphin is really getting more into offering more fun things for their guests including the Dive in Movie. While there in the afternoon they had dance music playing, hula contests, basketball competitions all this for the kids. "

I hope they are still doing the movie when we check in September 3rd. My kids we love all the extra activities going on during our afternoon breaks! DreamFlight can you confirm if these activities are still going on and the "dive" in movie!! Hope you are having a wonderful vacation!

Hi,

that was me who posted and we were there July 17 to 29. The movie was shown on Saturday July 23 and hopefully they will continue thruout the year and hope it is not just a seasonal thing. The poolside activities were a blast. They had hula contests, basketball contests, dance contest and so much more. They had a Dj Booth also set up everyday. All the activities were till about 6pm. The night of the movie they had set up a popcorn and drink booth with all types of drinks. We had a virgin pina coloda. The lifeguards were in full swing of the night of the movie. Have fun :Pinkbounc

We had stayed at the Swan and Dolphin for the last 10 years every year and this year they had the most poolside activies than any year.

Thanks so much for this info, sounds like alot of fun. They didn't have this at all last year when we were there so I'm looking forward to it. Do you remember if there was a schedule where the movies were only held on certain nights or does it run every night?
My boys will like the games poolside....I think I will too.
I guess they are trying to make the day more enjoyable when hanging at the hotel rather than having to outside of the hotel for some fun.
I do hope this is going on when we arrive. We leave Aug. 7 and I can't wait!!!

Hi,

I did not see a schedule for movies but just the huge big ball that had "dive in movie" written on it on both sides floating in their lake close to walkway of the Swan and Dolphin. I was also surprised in a happy way to know that they are doing this here since we go every year at the Swan and Dolphin, it was nice to see something new and different. :cool1:

Thanks gm for letting me know where the notice was posted so I can look out for it.
It sounds like alot of fun and I hope they are doing it when we arrive.

I just also went to the Swan/Dolphin webpage and saw the information about poolside activities there. Go to their webpage and you will see explore, eat, play. Click PLAY than click pool/water activities and it has a schedule there for djs, poolside activities, etc for each day. I did not see the dive in movie schedule on it though. We saw almost all that was on there. Here is the schedule:

11 am water grotto battles
12pm in the water diving for eggs
1 pm pool shark and minnows
3 pm scavenger hunt
4pm water polo
5pm waterslide races

poolside DJ is there Friday,Saturday and Sunday
12 to 5 pm
great music
pool games
strolling magic
awesome prizes
fun contests

Also in addition they had the Dive in movie but I did not see it listed on their website though.

Hope this helps :cool1:

gm-Thanks so much for that info, I'll go there right now. I'm at their site all the time but usually don't check the pool section.
6 more days to go!!!!!

We will be staying at the Dolphin Sept. 28-Oct. 3, thanks to the great rates for nurses. :cool1: This is our first stay in this hotel and this thread has been great, although it is too large for me to get through the whole thing! So this is probably a repeat question.

We booked 2 rooms, both resort view with balconies (double beds). I informed the girl who took my reservation that we wanted a view that would face Epcot/Illuminations. I gather that the East wing has the best views of Epcot and I assume that the highter floors would have better views than the lower floors. I don't mind not having connecting rooms in order to get rooms on the higher floors. What would be the best way to put in this request? I don't want to wait until check in, but I don't know if it will make a difference if I request it in advance? I realize they don't guarantee specific rooms, but I'd like to at least request a certain area. Has anyone done this before and if so did you phone, fax or email? Thanks! :earsboy:

Definitely make the request so they know your want an Epcot view but they won't guarantee it until you check in.
We stayed in a suite last year and had an Epcot view and it was absolutely gorgeous!!! We watched Illuminations from our balcony on all the nights that we were not there in the park to see it and it was beautiful and you could see it great!! There was nothing like opening the blinds every morning and seeing Spaceship Earth. Definitely the higher floors have the better views. I noticed that the lower floors that had an Epcot view were obscured because of the trees.
We leave 6 more days and I can't wait!!!! Of course when I booked I also made my request for an Epcot view again so I'm hoping I get it.

Thanks for your help! I have to call and request another email confirmation since my mom deleted it, she didn't know the Dolphin was a Starwood hotel. So I can make the request when I call for the confirm.

You had a suite with an Epcot view and a balcony?!?! I have been dying to know if the suites and jr. suites have balconies, but no one seemed to know!

Not just one but three balconies!!!! We were in a grand suite compliments of management as my DH and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. It was a complete surprise and a very special vacation. Our boys had their own room and we had the connecting door. The room was beautiful!!! The boys had their own balcony in their room and in our room we had two balconies and our room had the bed and the parlor area.
They made our vacation last year one that we will never forget and of course it's where I'll be very soon and I'm counting down the days!!!!

I am going to have to change my ressie as I have just found out on this thread you cant have 5 in the Swan :confused3

I booked the Dolphin and decided to go for a deluxe balcony room with resort view. Are the rooms different to standard ones ?

Always thought you could have five in a room, at least at Dolphin. Am I wrong?

Our youngest is only 2, so we're still okay, but my future plans involve many visits to Disneyworld and stays at the Dolphin :) Will my dreams not be fulfilled?

If Dolphin is out of the question, anyone have a quick idea on what resorts will allow 5 in a single room? Obviously Fort Wilderness. Also all deluxes? Do WL and AK allow 5? Is the only moderate that allows 5 Port Orleans Riverside? I can check this out on the resorts board, but if the Dolphin is not an option, anyone have a quick answer? Of course, if the Dolphin does allow 5, that's all I need, since I'm happy right there :)
