This special worked out great. Just rebooked two rooms getting the second for $89. Arriving 9/28-10/04. Saving money on all aspects of this trip as I took advantage of a ding southwest fare from Providence for $49. Still have not booked the ruturn trip but I think I will shortly.

GO FRIARS!

I too received this email offer. So.... you don't have to be adults connecting to a childs room?? :confused3 That's just a marketing thing? You could have 2 rooms with 4 adults total??? That's a great rate of about 124/night!!
May need to consider another trip soon!!

Do they ever offer these great deals in late October that you know of? :bounce: :bounce:

October is becoming a difficult month to get discounts at any disney hotels.
October is a big convention month at the swan and dolphin. It seems like their special rates are up to 10/06. It doesn't matter if its children or adults the connecting room is $89.

I am watching for mid-October. If something is going to be available, it should come out any time now. I'll post it I hear something. I am glad that code helped! I just wish I could use it...

does anyone have the pricing for the suites or a web site I could go to find them? I've searched the home site and am unable to locate pricing for them. Even when I go to reservations they don't come up as an option to book. Thanks :sunny:

Does anyone have (or know where I can find) a detailed map of the Swan. Looking to know where exits, elevators and bathrooms are.

I don't think I've ever seen a map of the Swan that had those details in it. I can tell you that the front entrance is where you'll exit for the buses, the back for the friendship boats. There are bathrooms located across from Kimono's which is on the side of the Swan facing the Dolphin. I believe there are also some more near the lobby. You can walk back and forth between the two resorts under cover which helps in case of rain.

Unless something has changed this year, sometime in early -to - mid October there are several conventions (computer related, I think?) that are at the Swan/Dolphin. The e-mail special has me stumped though.... I was thinking that the conference was usually the first week. Maybe they aren't hosting it this year? At any rate, October is big convention month. Discounts are a little challenging.

We added two more nights to our stay, but they are at CBR. Will the Swan transport our luggage for us?

I don't think it will be a problem. We had our luggage transfered from ASsp TO the Dolphin and it worked out great! Have a wonderful stay :sunny:

Does anyone know if they offer any discounts like this in Feb? I am having a heck of a time getting any rate lower than $199 a night!

We are planning to attend a convention at the Swan and Dolphin in early August 2007. Which hotel would be better for a family? Do rooms in either hotel accomodate a family with 2 adults and 3 kids (10, 8 and 4)? What convention rates can we expect? Would we do better with a AAA or AP rate? To qualify for the teacher discount do you need to be employed by a school system? I have a valid teaching certificate but am not currently teaching. Thanks for any information!

Hi Bowen9475, The Swan/Dolphin hotels recommend that for a family of 5 you book the Dolphin hotel.
As far if you qualify for the teacher rate you do. You have a valid teaching certificate so you are good to go. Please note on discounts that if you work for a school system you would qualify also. You just need a letter from the school district on their letterhead stating you work for them. Please note sometimes people don't realize they are qualified. Most schools are run by either a city, town or county and you get paid by them. That would put you under the umbrella of a government discount as well. Same thing here a paystub from the government office paying you or a letter on their letterhead stating your employment with them works at check-in.
You can book both hotels by following the link below.

Looking at discounts keep this in mind. Your lowest pricing for discounts is always the Teacher, Nurse, government, military discounts. If you can qualify for those that is where the best pricing is. Next is the AP discount. This discount if available for your travel dates will get you a free upgrade one level above the room category you pick, plus get you a late check-out on the day of departure. The AAA/AARP and entertainment book are equal in the pricing but have no upgrade or late check-out available to them.

For questions or assistance please e-mail bob@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com or call 352-516-6824 ask for Bob.

Hi Bob,

I just want to clarify my understanding on the late checkout offered to some people (AP ressies and spg members) I've always known it to be "if available" and sometimes the hotel cannot accomodate the request. In past experiences we've been given checkouts at noon or 2...and other times they said "sorry but we can't offer this to you today."

I will be at the Swan *tonight*!!! :wizard:

Or as my nephew calls it - "the hotel with the two ducks and the clamshell" lol.

I cannot wait! I have dinner at bluezoo tonight! I leave in three hours!

I'll be back August 30 to update!

Thanks for the information! To get the teacher discount, would I just need to bring a copy of my certificate to check in then? If we booked now at the teacher discount and later found out that the convention rate we were offered was less, could we get the difference in rates back? Thanks again!

I bet this was answered long ago, but I have to leave for work soon...Could anyone tell me if I could use the Dining plan if I stay at the Dolphin? There is a Convention in July2007 with a room rate of $115. I had really wanted the Beach Club but it is going to cost nearly $6000 with dining/tickets. (8 nights). But we've had some unexpected bills and now I don't think we can afford the Beach Club anymore. But the room rate is so much cheaper here. But that dining plan sounds so great and would save us much $$

Thanks, Robyn
