NEW Epcot Tour: World Showcase DestiNations Discovered

Tour definitely sounds interesting to me, and with a TS meal included that makes it all that much better. Let the reviews begin !!!

I did this tour last month. It was a long tour for the cost and we really learned a good bit about each pavilion. We had a group of 9 I believe. Lunch was good and definitely more than I would normally eat at lunch time. Was fun seeing some back stage areas. I thought it as worth the cost. Met some awesome Disney fans. WDWParkHopper.com should be doing a podcast of this tour in the next few weeks. It may contain spoilers though!

Has anyone done this tour in the last couple months? Just looking for more reviews....still deciding between this and Undiscovered Futureworld for our Jan. trip!

We did these two tours back to back in June. In our opinion, Undiscovered Future World was by far the better tour. We decided to take DestiNations Discovered at the last minute and booked it the day before...and we were the only two people on it. We were our guide's first group ever for the tour, and may possibly have been the first over all. While he was great, it was obvious the tour didn't have all the kinks worked out. Like another poster, we seemed to get through things much faster than expected. While the tour was interesting, and guide was great, it definitely didn't feel quite ready to go. There is no pin yet, though Guest Relations says there will be one eventually.

Thanks for your review!

Just did this tour on Saturday.
Kathy's review on the link above is pretty much what I would say.
If you are a detail person, the information is very interesting. It was nice to stop an actually look around at details and take in why the details are actually there. One place I found that will come in handy in the future is the museum in Morocco. Hardly anyone knows that door is real and goes inside and if it's a hot sunny day and you need a quiet break, the AC feels heavenly in there. But also the items and design of that area was really nice to see.

Our guide was originally from China and she was honest if she didn't have an answer but over all very encouraging for us to ask questions, and knowledgeable. She mentioned something about a 40 page script she had to learn to do the tour. I was impressed. Also compared some things with China and Japan.

It was very interesting to hear the details of which countries are actually Disney run verses a company from the individual countries running the pavilion.

It's not a big deal, but I was disappointed that they didn't have the little pin give aways like Key's to the Kingdom tour. Just a nice keepsake.

I was a little nervous about the food, but would definitely eat their again. I'm not a spice person, so it was nice that the sauces were on the side.
The welcome and personal attention we got was really nice.

There was 3 of us on the tour. We were encouraged to ask for breaks, and stop longer in areas of interest to look around.

The Destination tour did not give you a water bottle like Key's to the Kingdom tour does, so be sure to bring one with you, especially if it's a hot day. The guide was very courteous to make sure that when we stopped to talk we were in a shaded area.
In comparing prices, I think Key's was a less of an expense, but I guess a hot meal vs a sandwich meal makes up the difference.

Kathy recommended a notebook and I would say that's a good idea if you want to remember all the details and like taking notes. I didn't and I know there are pieces of information I missed or forgot.

Overall, I like the experience and would recommend the tour if someone has the extra money to spend.

We will be going in January and I'm pretty excited. Good looking out for the rest of us with regard to water, I've already made a note to pack some for ourselves that day.

I just wanted to bump this old thread to ask if anyone had been on this tour recently? Any more current reviews? Thanks!

I’m also looking for more recent reviews - trying to decide between this one and the Undiscovered Future World tour for this summer...
