New Entrance To DHS Opening 11/8

Just when you felt comfortable finding your way to DHS, they change it. Below was announced today.

"As we continue to re-imagine Disney’s Hollywood Studios and prepare for the park’s 30th anniversary in 2019, work is also underway to transform the park arrival experience, making it even easier and more convenient to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Beginning November 8, Guests and Cast driving to Disney’s Hollywood Studios will use a new entrance and exit off of Osceola Parkway. At that time, the satellite entrance on Buena Vista Drive will be dedicated to buses only. The existing main entrance off World Drive and Osceola Parkway will be repurposed for working Cast only, with direct access to Cast parking. Please allow extra travel time and follow appropriate roadway signage.

We look forward to sharing additional updates about the arrival experience including expanded parking, adjusted tram lanes, additional bus parking and the Disney Skyliner."

whats the secret entrance?I guess people can say the main entrance is the World dr entrance which looks horrible right now,the positive of that one is that you get a glimpse of the Star Wars construction.The Buena Vista dr entrance is the one I use 90% of the time but I can see how this one could be seen as the secret entrance you refer to,right now neither entrance looks worthy of a "Disney" park entrance,I saw the new toll plaza from the parking lot the other day,it looks nice!

Yeah, I was referring to the small entrance with just one booth. We rarely waited more than two or three minutes at that entrance. We usually used that one even if it was out of the way. The whole parking lot and walk up to the bag check is horrible right now. I don’t understand why they are even bothering with the tram- you’re already halfway back to your car by the time you reach the tram.

Because of what I did at WDW, I had to use that entrance at least ten times a day and two to three minute waits was not the norm in the morning during busier times. Traffic could be backed up to Victory Way on some mornings. Once the rush was over it was fine though.

Even I have to shake my head sometimes when Disney uses "Disneyspeak". Auto Plaza, Robo's right, and don't drive down from Missouri, it's just a parking lot.

Oh nice didn't know you were from Missouri too. Should have known with those great map skills! If you need a road trip partner to go view the exciting new entrance I could probably make time

People has really blown the "extra long" walk out of proportion. We walked that 4 times last week from Boardwalk to HS and it added maybe 3 minutes to the walk. It seems like you are walking much further but really didn't change the walk time much. Looks to be very nice when it is done.

Definitely stinks for those staying at BCV. We usually drive since it is just across the street. Will have to rethink this plan!

It's not that much further, maybe 7 minutes or so more. The entrance is right off Victory Way.
