from the 9/2/07 WDWradio Podcast Lou Mongello reports in his "rumor mill" segment that he has it from a reliable source that there is a new E-ticket attraction in the works for Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom likely to be built in the next few years. It is suppost to go where the galaxy theater and the old skyway building is. Just wondering if anyone else has heard anything more about this or would like to speculate on it:thumbsup2

The CoP is between those two structures. Wonder if this is bad news for that attraction?

Too bad they filled in the sub lagoon. The new attraction at DL is awsome!

thinking the same thing as well, those 2 structures aren't near each other unless COP is removed :confused3

This area has long been marked for development and every budget year there's a flurry of "new giant mega ride" rumors - doesn't anyone remember the "COP is closed and the tractors are on their way" rumors about the new flying saucer/hovercraft attraction from a few years back?

Augh! If I could figure out how to get this $#@&%! google map thing to work, I could look at the aerial view and see what kind of space there is available in that area. Somebody help!:headache:

Looking at the Google Earth image, I don't think there is room even if you remove COP. I'm assuming an E-Ticket ride would be about the same size as Space Mountain or Splash Mountain. They would need to place the ride over the RailRoad and into the water behind the tracks. Very Expensive!

Maybe behind Buzz Lightyear in the parking area?:confused3

I dont think they'd ever remove that parking area, there's too much important stuff that gets transported in and out and the basis for a lot of services.

when we were there last week, they asked us to take a survey as we were exiting CoP. It was all about how we rated the attraction, what we liked, etc.
Looks like they're collecting ammo.

Blow it up. The CoP has been on the endangered species list for awhile now. I feel the attraction has run its course and its time for something new.

Blow it up
Typical.

Bring it back to California and refresh the show. I'm sure there are plenty of childern today who would wonder at the marvels of the 1980s when cell phones were the size of bricks, when cable television gave us 20 whole channels and revel in all the glories of 8-bit video games!

Well, yeah, that's what happens when you don't invest in updating an attraction such as CoP. Just like what happened with Future World. Only instead of nuking it or updating it after the stagnation, they abandoned the concept, for better or worse.

Before saying just nuke it, I'd like to see what they could do to update it. After all, we aren't talking about some failure of an attraction that's only been around a few years.

well, they can leave tomorrowland alone. it's my fave land in the park (for obvious reasons) and hopefully this new attraction won't spoil any of the theming

I'm 14 and CoP is in my top five attractions. I hope they don't tear it down, but wouldnt mind if it went to California.

Why would they spend the money to tear down 2 buildings when they have a hole in Fantasy land to fill? And they already have a "Child-Swap" area built?

I vote to keep COP and update. It's one of the few original attractions that was under the direction of Walt Disney.

Stitch would be a good location to use for a new "E" attraction.
