Disney World Started offering a new promo that will give you a gift card for food and drinks through out your stay for select nights during fall and early next year. It’s not the DDP. I will add the link to the full description for anyone to ready.

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/holiday-2023-early-2024-dine-card-offer/

The only excluded rooms it says are
  • Offer excludes the following room types: campsites, 3-bedroom villas, and Club Level Rooms & Suites at Disney Deluxe Resort hotels.
So if I’m staying at BWV in a garden view studio, would this offer be available to me?
How would I find out?
Is DVC usually included in these types of promos?

Why would we not be eligible as dvc members if we were paying cash?

I would much rather use my points and discounted gift cards along with the DVC discounts at TS restaurants but I would think we would be still eligible.

For the record, this a NOT a great deal, especially for the dates in 2023. The room only discount is a much better deal. I priced it out just out of curiosity and it would cost $1500 MORE to book with the promo. So Disney kicks back a $1000 gift card and you've still paid $500 more than just booking room only and adding tickets...

I thought it was too good to be true. Since I had both the requirements of a 4-night booking during the selected dates, with tickets they would automatically give me the gift card. Darn!

Still why would DVC members be excluded? Maybe I would want to book a moderate resort on cash?

If you want to go as a cash guest, you are eligible.

Being DVC doesn’t change that. But, if you are using your membership to book the room, then you are not.

I’m pretty sure the OP was asking about being elgible for it because they booked their room on points.

Yes. I was seeing since I meet all the stipulations for this promotion, if I was eligible even though I booked my room with points

And it is ineligible on points because it is paid for by the resort.

But you do not meet all the stipulations, as one is that you booked the room for cash.

You have to be paying cash for the room, not the food. So if using DVC points to pay for your room (villa), you're not eligible. If you book a DVC villa via Disney Resort Reservations and pay cash for it, you might be eligible depending on which villa and your dates.

As the promo says you need to purchase at a non-discounted price a 5-night "vacation package" that includes both a 5-day resort reservation and 4-day park tickets. Such packages are sold through Disney central reservations and not through DVC, i.e., you cannot even make a cash reservation through DVC and get the package, both because any cash reservation for a DVC room made by a member through DVC will be at a discount, 25% off the non-discounted price, and because you cannot get a "package" reservation through DVC that includes both room and park tickets.

This is for those who book a cash stay. It does not apply to DVC points bookings.

And, DVC owners are not eligible for Disneyworld promotions like this.
My question was to the above post stating DVC members are not eligible for promotions like this. I know it would not work on points so I was curious why it was stated that we are not eligible even as it mentions it is for a cash stay.

I just couldn’t imagine Disney singling out DVC members who want to pay cash rates to stay at eligible properties during the promotional period.

@Sandisw is a wealth of knowledge so I wasn’t sure if we really were not eligible.

As others have since pointed out it is not the greatest promotion but it’s something and if you were out of points one might consider it if eligible.

Thanks I understand if using points you would not be eligible. Please see the post above.

Do not know whether it needs any further clarity but anyone, including DVC members, can get the deal by simply going through Disney central reservations and purchasing the required "package" for cash (credit card) that includes both 5 nights in a room at the undiscounted price and 4-day park tickets. DVC members simply cannot get it via either a point reservation or the 25% discounted cash reservation that members can do through DVC for DVC rooms.

People sometimes get confused about cash booking a DVC villa. It is a stay in a designated DVC room but can be booked through WDW resorts as a cash room and could qualify for the offer.

How good an offer is depends. Offer A may have little to no discount on the resort, room category and dates you like. Offer B discount works out better. Offer A might still be better for some of your preferred alternatives.
