And this is exactly why I don't support Disney setting up outside their theme parks. I tend to bite my tongue in regards to the 'Adventures by Disney' concept, but to me it represents how they have managed to impose their beliefs and their American culture onto other areas and diluted the local experience. I cannot say how I really feel without alienating most readers here; suffice to say that I will never recommend or even support the current ABD model.Disney creates a "Disney" environment resort a bit off the strip and makes it geared towards those of us who have kids but stay away because of the "normal" Vegas environment. They set it up like DCL: lots and lots of stuff for kids to do in their various aged camps so the parents can hang out by the pool, go shopping on the strip, go catch a Cirque show, go gamble, etc etc. The kids get a great Disney themed trip in Vegas and the parents get to do adult play in Vegas!
I know I would utilize something like this and probably even add on there!!
I would far rather experience the reality of the world than some fantasy based on a Disney designer's concept. It works in the Disney parks, but only if they manage to find a way to work outside the theme park environment while embracing local culture and tradition will I support such a move.
I DON'T want Disney everywhere in the world. I want the reality, with the ability to escape to the fantasy if required.
