New DVCers need your help!!

Can anyone help us?!!
We are new to DVC (joined jan 07) and have just booked for 10 days in SSR (our home resort). We are having a Disney wedding on 5th December (all booked!!) and hoped to get a 3 bed villa in OKW...no chance!!!
We assumed as SSR was our home resort there would be no problem in getting a 2 bed & a studio (as we haven't got enough points for a 3 bed there) to put up as many wedding guests as possible!
Member services told us that one of our nights is not available for points and therefore must be paid for in cash. The night for cash happens to be the day after our wedding, meaning we'd have to leave the accommodation early and move to three 1 beds, then move back again the next day to the 2 bed & studio...or pay the $724 + tax. We can't really afford this due to wedding costs etc.
We are very disappointed about this and wonder if anyone knows a way round it.
Any ideas/ advice would be welcome.

What about going on the wait list. Are you saying that they are booked out completely and it is not yet seven months? I would have thought that ssr would just not book out at this stage. It may be worth asking a different cast member. The resort is so large it seems strange that would be so booked out so early in december. although dec is very popular for dvc members.

Hopefully someone else will have a better suggestion. good luck and let us know how you get on.

sometimes if you phone again and get talking to another CM they might be more helpful

Hi congratulations on your DVC purchase, we own at SSR too. Do you have enough points for the extra night? If so why can't you waitlist for that night, I'm sure it will come up.

Definitely Waitlist and also try the sympathy card.. that it's your wedding, coming over from the UK etc.

you are only at the 7 month now for OKW
as of today 4th May you can
Currently, you may request a reservation at any Disney Vacation Club Resort for vacations that have a check-out date before December 4, 2007.

Mark and Sue - We are on the wait list, they are not booked out completely just got no 'points nights' available for that night!

jjpenguin - We spoke to 3 different CMs and someone in their complaints dept...but no joy!!

Treacle44 - We do have enough points for that night but are worried it won't come up.

jns - There is hardly any thing left at OKW as we enquired on availability, we would have loved a 3 bed villa there
We might take your advice and ring member services again..its worth a go and put this on the main DVC board too!

The wedding plans are almost sorted!! just trying to find a dress, but don't really know what style to get. Getting married at Sunrise terrace at Wilderness Lodge, so going to be an intimate wedding with only a few guests so don't want a BIG dress!!! So much to think about!!

Posted thread on main DVC board too. Hopefully it'll all work itself out in the end or someone will have a great idea!!

So you're going home for the first time this October, we're going home for the first time this December. You'll have to let us know how it goes!!
