I am so excited, we just bought Poly less than a week ago with an August use year. I just completed my most awesome Disney trip and now I know I'll be getting more in the future.

My purchase bonus was 2015 points. I just used most of those to book an anniversary trip in May/June. I have 4 points left and I'm not sure what to do with them.

My plans are to bank my 2016 points, then use my 2017 points and borrow from 2018 to hopefully get us a 5-6 nights in a 2 bedroom at VGC in January 2018.

If I'm right, my leftover 4 pts are pretty useless to me given my plans as they won't be able to use toward my Jan 2018 booking. What do I do with them? I guess this would be a time to transfer to another member? I have no idea how to go about that. Or, am I completely wrong and they can be used toward that reservation?

Also, what are my chances of getting a 2 bedroom at VCG in January?

I think you should still have time to call member services and bank your remaining 2015 points. They will be available to you for use from Aug 2016 thru July 2017. If you book a trip during this period, you will use these first. According to your plan, these 4 points will expire unused, but at least you have them if your plans change.

Others will have more insight into the VCG question.

Congratulations on your purchase.

I just wanted to point out that the 2015 points are not "bonus" points - they are contractually yours as your 2016 year will not start until This coming August.

True, I am already paying for them. It was a bit of a bonus for me to get to make this June anniversary trip.

I'm still trying to figure this points, UY, borrowing, booking alignment. I'm nowhere near firm on my 2018 trip at the moment anyway, I'm just excited that I have an excuse to travel more often.

Since you bought less than a week ago, make some time to learn as much as you can about these topics, and also about home resort. You legally have 10 days to cancel the contract if you learn that a different home resort or the resale market would make more sense for you. There was someone last week who paid $10,000 more than they should have for a Saratoga Springs Resort contract direct, but they found out about two weeks too late.

New direct buyers come here all of the time and we hate to put a damper on your excitement but supersnoop is correct and the advice is worth thinking about. Disney does a great job getting buyers all excited, makes them think that they are getting bonus points, and doesn't tell them about resale savings or other resort possibilities.

Scanning the prior posts in the purchase section will help you answer any question that you may have, information is power and allows you to make an informed purchase.
