NEW DVC RESORT COMING

Any word on the planned occupancy or floor plan of the waterfront cabins at WLV? I thought they blundered with the Poly bungalows--too few bedrooms.

I wonder if the smaller layout of the Bungalows was a result of construction limitations from building these stand alone structures over water. Two stories wasn't an option due to blocking the views from the longhouse so to make the floorpans large enough to accommodate 3 bedrooms in one story utilizing over water construction might have just been too cost prohibitive.

I've not heard of any definitive plans regarding the occupancy of the cabins. My guess is they could go in two directions. The first is to play it safe and do as they did with the PVB bungalows and strictly keep them 2BRs. The overall footprint of so many cabins could argue against them putting in grand suites w/3BRs. They'd also be a tad bit cheaper to build and furnish, and we know Disney is all about saving a dollar. One could equally argue that these cabins would be the perfect opportunity for DVC to give more cachet to the WL resort. The kicker here is how many and what types of suites will they be putting into the converted south wing? (Yeah, yeah, I know that's not been confirmed but work with me.) If all the new suites are studios and 1BRs, then it follows the cabins would be 2BRs. If there is a dose of 2BRs in the conversion, then the cabins could be grand villas. There is so much unknown that it's hard to figure what they'll do. My guess is--and this is clearly supported by nothing other than speculation shrouded in uncertain logic--the south wing will become studios and 1BRs while the cabins will simply be 2BRs. . .with perhaps a handful of them being grand villas. We shall see. . .
