My AWESOME guide just emailed us and told me that there is a GREAT new incentive for DVC purchases. If you buy 160 points as a new DVC member and use a current DVC members name you will receive a 3 day Disney Cruise for a Family of 4!!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2 For 200 points a 4 day cruise, and for 270 points a 7 NIGHT CRUISE FOR A FAMILY OF 4!!!!!

Did your guide say what Price per point it is for the new properties. Are they still giving a discount off the 112.00?

My guide just emailed me back and said the following :
"With this you still get the discount per point - each resort is $112 now...BLT has a $5 per point discount and AKV has a $6.25 per point discount..."

Lesley

Hi Everyone! We just bought into BLT this weekend! We got a 5.00 credit off the 112.00 for every point we purchased.

I have an email out to answer questions asked, I'll post as soon as I hear back from my guide.
Thanks!
Lesley

The cruises being offered are in lieu of developer points. You get the 5 dollar per point down payment match - and your choice of developer points for DL hotels or SSR to be used by October 2009. If you choose the cruise option - you DO NOT get developer points as well. It is an either/or deal. The cruise includes all gratuities - you only pay for booze and soda. 100 dollar upgrade from oceanview stateroom to verandah. They will be publishing a list of dates to choose from shortly.

hope this info helps!!

Only $100 to upgrade for the whole trip? Pretty decent. While I prefer this to the developer points, I'm not quite sure how this is a significantly better offer or why they would want you to have a referral to get it.

Here is what my guide just emailed me with:
"No developer points - the credit (can be used towards the downpayment) and the category is an ocean-view stateroom (no verandah) - there are no port charges, taxes, etc - all taken care of by DVC - sailing dates run through Dec 2010 (pretty much nothing in the summer months) - awesome, awesome opportunity."

What a GREAT deal, wish they had this when we signed up.

When you said, "the credit (can be used towards downpayment)", what credit were you referring to? The $5 off per point or the credit for cost of the cruise?

it's 100 per person to upgrade to verandah for the 4 day cruise - 175 per person to upgrade to the verandah on the 7 night cruise (sorry I forgot that part!)

We just bought/added 150 points at GCV and opted for 5 nights at the Grand Californian instead of the cruise. Landlubber that I am, I'd rather sail with the Pirates of the Caribbean! Arrrr!

I have to admit - This new incentive is pretty tempting - back to number crunching I go...lol

Did you guide offer you the cruise as an option when your purchased VGC? I just added on 100 pts and this wasn't mentioned. In general, is this cruise incentive for add ons too? Sounds like it.... We are already going on a cruise in Oct, so the DPs are probably better for us anyway, but would be something to think about...

Edit: per dvcnews.com it looks like the incentive starts at 160pts...so one less thing for me to ponder...

I wonder how DVC is paying for this incentive? A 2010 3 night cruise is about 300 pts per the DCL points chart. Do they have DP inventory they are selling CRO to cover the cost, maybe they got a special discount from DCL? Even though they are both Disney the separate books still need to balance... The incentive is basically 300 cruise pts (CPs) vs 160 DPs...

Have we figured out if its available to VGC add ons too??
