New DVC Purchase Advice - BLT or Poly

I know you've worked through this, but I'm just now reading lol.

*His* customers feel like second class citizens? How? How could they feel like that if they are his customers? I mean, everyone is assigned a guide, even resale people, but the only way his customers who are resale could be feeling second class is if he is making them feel that way, right?

I could purchase 175+ Pts resale\addon at BLT for the same $ as 130 PTS at Poly and annual dues are lower so am I just over thinking this?

Sounds good to me. Especially since Poly isn't right for you. No reason to pay the premium to get 11 month booking in a place that's not appropriate for you!

There are pretty strong disclosures tonot buy a real estate interest with expectation of "benefits" beyond the timeshare all over DVC"s own materials.

Yep. When their own materials say to not take benefits into account, listen to them.

I expressed the studio concern with the sales rep and he mentioned that we could book adjoining studios for similar price point a 1BR and have a total of 4 baths.

4 "baths"? Isn't it a bath and a half? Two vanities but one toilet and one bathing area? Or is it like VGF with one vanity in one room, one toilet in the other, but one of the rooms has a shower and the other with a shower/bathtub? I know it's not two full bathrooms, so two studios isn't going to give you 4 full proper bathrooms.

I don't want to be held at a different status because of buying resale...again probably a rookie move of over thinking the importance of "inclusion" of buying direct.

If someone refers snidely about resale, if it every happend which is unlikely, I'd recommend laughing and telling them you like the extra 50 points or the money you have in the bank more.

Seriously. But I think it's just irritating guides and one maybe two misguided (and in both posts I've read *wrong*) MS people acting like that.

Member events are not announced 11 months out. They really are luck of the draw being on campus for them, and you'll have schedule concerns that involve "2 kids," not "maybe DVC will have a member event this week!"

Not sure if I should wait it out for the right contract at Bay Lake or consider another home resort :scratchin

With your wishes, Bay Lake or VGF would be good if anyone's selling GF. For both you have to walk over to the associated non-villa resort to get the monorail. So that access is basically the same. Loved VGF pool. Only sat in BL's hot tub.

That approach is concerning in that I would have to make sure 2 rooms are available as opposed to 1. I also understand that the benefits aren't guaranteed to anyone but I don't want to be held at a different status because of buying resale...again probably a rookie move of over thinking the importance of "inclusion" of buying direct.
BLT sounds like a good choice for you. A studio does not have a washer and dryer or a full kitchen or a king size bed or a spa jetted tub. The studios don't have two full bathrooms. They only have 1 toilet and two showers. Also BLT 1 bedroom has two full bathrooms which is very nice for a family. We love staying at BLT and being able to walk to MK in the evening after visiting another park.
 
A good contract will come around. I found with all my resale contracts (7, I think), that by stalking the resale sites diligently, that a contract came up in a week or so. Just takes a good eye. The Poly would have been a poor fit--you will appreciate the king beds, kitchens and washer dryer of the one bedrooms.
