I just seen this on the dvc site, a discount for the kids clubs, great for me as my 3 kids are always asking to go!
"Children's Activity Centers

Kids ages 4-12 can enjoy computer games, Disney movies, dinner, and snacks in an environment created just for them—while you have a night out for yourself! Receive a 10% discount at Children's Activity Centers at the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Children's Activity centers are availabe at five locations: Cub's Den at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Mouseketeer Clubhouse at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Sandcastle Club at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, Simba's Clubhouse at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, and NeverLand at Disney's Polynesian Resort.

Hours of operation are 4:30 pm to 12:00 am daily. Price before discount is $10 per hour, per child. Discount is limited to three children per Member. Children must stay for a minimum of two hours. For Activity Center reservations, call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463)."

That is SOO cool!!! My dd is getting old enough that we have thought about using this (she's 4). We were just talking last week about how, if we said, "Honey...would you like to play games with other kids, watch movies and eat "kid food"....or, go out to Le Cellier with Mommy and Daddy?", how it would be such a "no-brainer" for her.....weird kid!!!! ;)

But, then again....a quiet dinner for dh and me....PRICELESS!!!! (or, PRICELESS- 10%).

Now, THAT is a great perk!!!! And, another reason I am glad I own at BCV!!!

That's a great perk for DVC members. I remember when we did the Gold plan one year it included free kid club stays, but our youngest was turning 2 at the time, so we couldn't use it. I knew my older boys would have loved it. My DD just turned 4 this month, so maybe we'll try it next time.

We just bought into DVC at SSR - does it have any babysitting services?

No, but you can use the services of a babysitting service that is closest to the park you are going to. I know this does not help for DTD, but Epcot is not that far.

Oh...and, there are babysitters that will come to your room (a private company). I have heard they are expensive, but wonderful!!!

No, but i was thinking :scratchin the other day, shouldnt they have one there! I mean they have 3 in the Magic Kingdom area, 1 in Epcot area, 1 in the Animal Kingdom area, but nothing at the Downtown Disney Area! You have 4 resorts in that area, plus downtown Disney, with Pleasure Island. If you are staying at one of the resorts in DD area and want to go to DD or Pleasure Island without the kids, you have to travel all the way to one of the out of the way kids clubs, then come back to DD/Pleasure Island for the night. When your done for the night, travel all the way to get back to get the kids, and come all the way back to your DD area resort! I really think they need one at OKW or SS.

Bummer about the ages!

I wonder why I have to pay for soon-to-be 3 yo DD to get into the parks, but she can't participate in these activities until she's 4. :(

I think it has something to do with the caregiver:child ratio required by state law for group care-- they need more sitters per child for under 4s.

My daughter will turn 4 the month we go, can we use the Kid's Club? How do they check her age? Please don't flame me, just asking.

My guess is that also the 4 year old age limit may have to do with toileting habits. Many 3 year olds still require diapers/pull-ups and the extra care that comes with keeping a child with that need; whereas a four year old is most likely to be fully trained. I'm sure state law plays a bigger part in the age factor though!

Okay...why would we flame you??!!! I am sorry you are so scared of us here....we have our disagreements, but a generally a motley group of fools!!!

Yes...anyone can use the kids' clubs. I don't think you have to "prove" your child's age....I think they just take your word for it. I don't know for sure (my dd just turned 4), but we will be trying this for ourselves sometime soon.

This is nice, but it is still more expensive than in room babysitting from "Kid's Night Out". That is $10 for the first child and $6 for the 2nd.

We have used them for our last 2 trips, and were very happy with them. When we go out, we would rather have the kids save in our villa, and in bed at a reasonable time rather than out at the kids club until midnight.

We have also used the "Fairy Godmothers" service, which is substantially less expensive than the WDW kids clubs, has the benefit of getting the kids into bed, on time, teeth brushed, prayers said, clothes put away...etc...

All their sitters are older ladies, non-smokers, licensed, bonded, background checked, etc.

Here's a link to a site that has good comprehensive childcare info:

I gave this choice to my kids, but they rather go to the kids clubs. They like all the toys, games and other children. But Fairy Godmothers would be easier and cheaper.

We used Fairy Godmother's during our stay in Dec. It was an excellent experience and we would use them again in a heartbeat.

However, there are some other charges that need to be considered. FG's have a 4 hour minimum and a $12 travel fee, so for two children we knew ahead that out evening out would be atleast $68.

If the Kid's Club is discounted 10%, then the charge for 2 kids would be $18/hr for a total of $72 for 4 hours. I believe that they also have a 4 hour maximum time attached to leaving your kids there....

So the cost for two kids for four hours ends up pretty close for both scenarios(if my math is right!)

Depending on where you are going though a four hour cap may be restrictive (ie. we saw La Nouba then went out for dinner and with a bit of shopping and travel time we were gone for almost 6 hours)

Just my two cents...

There is no maximum time, you can leave your kids their from 4 pm when they open to 12 am when they close. There is a 2 hour minimum.
