We signed our contract and are all set - home resort is AKL!! YAY!!! I'm sooooo excited!!! For our very first DVC trip I'm taking my mom and DD for my DD's surprise bday trip!!! I took her sister a couple of years ago by herself and it's now the "baby's" turn to get to vaca AND spend some very quality one on one time with Mom and "Mimi"! We are going the last week of September - not looking forward to the heat, but we will manage :)

That is awesome. Nice feeling ain't it. To own part of the Mouse (so to speak). We just paid our maintenance fees, nearly $3k but it is the only bill that i actually don't mind paying. :) I would not worry about the heat in Sept but make sure to pack rain gear. You will still be in the Florida rainy season, plan a quick 20 min downpour right around 3-4pm. Anyway, congrads have a great time.

Congratulations! We closed on December 21 and are still anxiously awaiting our membership information. Planning a family trip for June to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We toyed with the idea of DVC for years before finally taking the plunge. Think having our first grandson had a big influence. Hoping we will be "happy campers" for many years to come.

Welcome home! AKL is our home also (6 years now), and we love it. We have stayed at other DVC "homes", but keep coming back to AK. We have tried Wilderness Lodge, Old Key West, and Beach Club, and really like them all, but there is nothing like having my coffee in the morning and glass of wine in the evening with the animals on the savannah. The pools at both Jambo and Kidani are terrific. Your daughter will LOVE the water play area at Kidani. Another advantage of Kidani is that the bus stop is the 1st one and you always get a seat before it stops at Jambo. We are going in April/May and can't wait! Happy planning.

:welcome:HOME...Feels Great doesn't it? LoL

Wait till you get your first stay.....Then it's all over...( In a good way that is..LoL )

Have fun.:thumbsup2

That's great to know! I picked kidani because our friends said the same thing about the pool. She also said its not as crowded/busy. Yay for the bus stop!!!!

Oh. And I chose savannah view too because my mom hasn't been to Disney since I was a kid and might not be back so I wanted to spoil her ;)

Welcome home! It is a wonderful feeling to "own" a piece of the magic. Just makes my vacations a little more special:cloud9: Hope you have an amazing trip with DD and DMom!
