New DVC Owner Thinking About The Bahamas

Has anyone ever used the DVC points to go to the Bahmas? Me and the DW would like to spend a week at the Harborside Resort. If you previosly held accomadation there let me know or any other Caribbean resort. Thanks.

Good Luck, I haven't been able to get much in a response about this myself. Would also love to go to harborside......... PLease write back when you know. Ask your guide and see what they say. Good Luck

I believe that Harborside is a fairly difficult trade. You may have better luck looking at redweek, tug, or vrbo.

All I can say is goodluck. We are owners of a two bedroom lockoff at Harborside, and we have difficulty getting in there. Just yesterday I called to book a trip next summer. I said I didn't want the week we own (it's automatically booked for you) that I wanted the end of June or July, no such luck, and in the process of this, maybe two mins. the person cancelled my week, and when I said fine, we'll travel on our week, she said, "Oh, I cancelled it, and now it is gone!!!!!" I was furious, so I made DH call and speak to a manager, and magically, we got the last week of July. Making ressies here has changed, and since they "confirm" the week you own whether you want it or not, it makes it look like the entire resort is booked, we also found out that there is an alottment of villas reserved for the Atlantis to book. So it's not fair, we paid a ton of money for the villa, not to mention paying maitenance fees that are so outrageous, that I'm too embarassed to tell you! All that aside, it is nice to have a little slice of paradise, when we get there that is!!!!!
