First and foremost I am not as Disney crazy as some folks here (not sure what DH, DS, DD are but I think they refer to family members with 'Disney' as a prefix. If this is indeed the case, I do not have any of the above, I refuse to loose my individuality or that of my family by prefixing my family members with a 'Disney' prefix...)
I bought into DVC sight unseen based on a reference of a good friend of mine. Both he and I like the finer things in life and if DVC was 1/2 as good as he let it on to be, then it would be a good purchase.
I read with amusement and trepidation the posts of fellow DIS members who were frustrated because:
1) They did not get a 'Welcome home'
2) The room assignment is done in the morning, noon, night, days with full moon, etc.
3) The CM's were not as cheery as they should be
4) The door handles are defective
5) Water pressure is non-existent
6) There was 'noise' early in the morning
How exactly would my visit go? Would I perceive value to an otherwise extremely expensive time share (compared to others in the Orlando area)? Would I be satisfied with my experience?
Well in a nutshell, YES!!
I own and stayed at BCV. I got to say that the entire area is simply unbelievable. The application of the theme of each resort and the attention to detail is simply breathtaking. The proximity of the resorts, Boardwalk, and Epcot is fabulous. We left our rooms at 8:40PM to see the fireworks at Epcot and got there 10 minutes early. The ESPN club simply brought MNF to life with the huge screen and incredible sound system.
My son loved the pool and recreation areas. Temperatures dropped into the 50's so we did not use the pool, but boy was the entire SAB complex incredible.
I can't wait for our next vacation coming up in about 30 days.
Specifics:
Room: 275, very far from the main rotunda, but close to the parking lot.
View: Irrelevant. I am view spoiled; I live in a condo, 24 stories up with water views from each room and balconies, nothing, and I mean nothing, can beat the views at home.
State of room: Perfect, everything worked and was clean.
Service: Everything met our expectations. No 'welcome home', but hey, I don't get that from the concierge in our building when I arrive home either.
Probably the only negative aspect I found was the prices charged for meals;these were on the high side, I did not percieve the value there.
