Well, we did it! After two years of "maybe, maybe not" - we decided to join the DVC! We are purchasing directly from Disney, and our paperwork is on the way. I got an email from my DVC guide referencing a one time activation on the member site. I am supposed to have a Club ID number and this one time activation code. I have the code from the email, but no club ID number. The website says this is NOT the same as the membership number. My guide is out until the 22nd. Does anyone know what this Club ID is? Once we sign the papers and send them back, will we get official ID cards or something? I know there is a big binder with info on the way, but past that - what happens next? Any input is appreciated!

Call MS, they can look you up buy your SSN and give you the required codes.

Call MS with the normal 800 number and go for their website help section. When i did mine it would not work at all so this is the way i had to go. It will be a quick call. And...lastly.... Welcome to the family. We love DVC and have never for a second regretted buying in and I think you will feel the same. Every Wednesday they have a meet and greet at the Atlantic Dance Hall plus if you are there in December they also have a Christmas party meet and greet. They do this 4-consecutive weeks so that as many owners as possible have a chance to make it. Good luck and don't get frustrated there is a near vertical learning curve at first but when confused just post a question here and you will have an answer with in an hour. You will love getting the paperwork. I just love they mark the "sign here places" with a mickey head... :woohoo:

I contacted member services and ended up being routed to quality assurance to get the club id number. I was told that in the near future, you will not be able to access the member website until you have completed closing. You can still book reservations through MS - just no website access until everything is finalized.

Welcome Home and Congratulations from Mickey, :mickeyjum Goofy, :goofy: and Me! :cool1:
What's your home resort and how many points? Also if you are getting a larger contract you should consider splitting it into smaller contracts. For instance, I initially purchased 200 pts, but I had it issued in 2-100 pt contracts. And I'm in ROFR for a 70 pt contract right now. The smaller contracts are easier to sell if that day ever arrives when you need to sell.

:welcome:

Congratulations! Enjoy your many years of magical vacations! This is the best place to learn the ropes and ask all the questions you have. There are definately DVC experts on this board. :goodvibes
