New DVC Member

Hi! We have been part of the DVC for just a year now and are taking our first DVC vacation to Hilton Head in early August.
I have three kids ages 21, 15, and 13 (a family of 5). Since this is our first trip we had a few questions that a more knowledgable person could answer. We will be there one full week.

1. What are some fun activities at HH (fee or free) that a family like us would enjoy?

2. Are there discounts you can receive (at restaurants, etc.) by being a DVC member?

3. For the beach, are there beach chairs for rent or do we have to pack our own?

Thanks a lot. Also, if anyone has some very useful advice for HH, please share it with us.

DVC members do receive a discount at many HH locations. You will get a print-out of the locations at check-in. In addition, there are a few restaurants in the vicinity which will offer a 10% discount for DVC members- even though they are not on the list- so ask wherever you choose to dine- you never know!

Tommy Towery has a great <a href="http://www.members.tripod.com/~ttowery/">HH website</a> with a wealth of information about the resort and HH in general.

The lifeguards (non-Disney) on the beach rent beach chairs and umbrellas- as well as water related equipment. You can also bring your own, if desired.
