HI! My hubby and I just got back from Disney last night and signed on at SSR . We are a little nervous and were wondering if anyone has had any trouble booking outside Disney. Thanks!

Hi! I'll say Welcome Home!

I'm sure some people will answer your question...we've only booked DVC or DCL with our points. Some people have reported very very nice trips to other places.

Welcome Home and Congratulations. We purchased in Oct. '05. We have not yet booked outside of Disney, but are planning. Some say it is not a good use of points, but I say if you are enjoying your points then it is worth. Happy Vacationing!!!

Booking Disney and the Concierge Collection is usually no problem. Booking through II can be more difficult if you are looking for an exact week, at an exact resort. If you are flexible in terms of time and location, people have reported good luck.

Using Disney points for things outside a DVC is not considered a money saving way to vacation. If you are interested in other timeshares it is a lot cheaper to buy something other than DVC to use for that purpose.

Have fun planning but you might want to read as much as you can on these boards before too much time passes.

Congratulations and Welcome Home! Besides DVC, we have used our points for DCL three times - and again next year. Have not traded out but we are really considering this for 08/09.
