New DVC member with point questions...

So my husband and I purchased 100 pts at AKV this past Oct/Nov timeframe. Our use year is Dec, and we received an extra 100 pts at closing.

So when I purchased our DVC points I really thought I had figured it all out but now I'm at the point when I want to book something I'm getting all confused..
So my first question is this I believe our extra points were 2008 points and I banked them and I think the person I talked to told me they would expire by Nov 30 2010? Does this sound right? And does it show anywhere on the site when points will expire?
When I go online to my acct it shows I have 200 points under the 2009 section and another 100 points under the 2010 section ok so we are in 2010 so are my points I received in Dec are they the 2009 points? and the 2010 points are they the ones I won't get until Dec 2010?
Also can I borrow all the points that show up on the system or can you only borrow into the next yr?

Your December 2008 pts were good for stays from 12/1/08 - 11/30/09.

You banked them to 2009, so they are now good for stays 12/1/09 - 11/30/10 as well as your 2009 points.

Your 2010 points are good for stays from 12/1/10 - 11/30/11.

So currently, you should show 200 points in your 2009 use year.
On the website you can see future years points as well -- it tells you right on the first page (either My Account or My Membership - I can't remember) how many points you have available, how many available for banking, and the dates of stays that you can book).

If you wanted to travel in say July this year - 2010 - and it would take 250 points, you could use your 2009 points (now 200) and you could borrow the other 50 from your 2010 use year.

Dec UY can be a bit tricky because it falls at the end of the calendar year.

Right now, you are in your Dec 2009 UY, even though it is 2010. It sounds like you have 200 points in the 2009 UY. 100 of those were banked from 2008 (when you bought), and must be used by November 30th, 2010.

Points are good for one UY, unless they are banked. If banked, they are good for the following UY.

Banking deadline for Dec UY is July 31st.

And, yes, your 2010 points become valid for stays starting Dec. 1st, 2010. Those would be good until November 30th, 2011, unless you bank them into your Dec 2011 UY, or borrow them into your 2009 UY.

ok so I think I'm getting it yet again. But now my question is this how far in the future can you borrow? only 1 yr? or as many years that show up on your membership screen? which I think is 2012 or are they just showing what you have in the future but you can touch until when?
