We just signed the papers. We have 200 points, now we are wondering which resort would be best for us to stay at for the first time. We will have to borrow points we know that because we would like to stay for close to two weeks. We have never been able to stay at any of the hotels before, we always stay at the campground. So we don't know what the hotels are like (except the few rooms that we saw) what they have to offer.
We are a family of 6, three that are 15, one 19 and one that is 20.
And my Mom.

Please help of to decide which resort to say at.

We are going in June.

Thanks for any input.

Stacey

because you will have plenty of time to get back and forth to the parks - OKW - it is the biggest both the resort and the rooms.

Okw has really big 2-bedroom. OKW is also the cheapest point wise. OKW has a boat to DD, all other transportation is by bus.

Now if you aren't planning on staying alot at the resort - then it depends upon what you like

action - fun night time activies- begining close to EPcot/studios - BWV or BCV (BCV is quieter and closer to Epcot)

if you like FW you will love VWL - it is a boat ride from the MK -

parking is closer at OKW - you can park at your door then in the following order - BCV, VWL then BWV.

I'm a new member too and haven't stayed in any of them yet! But I know what the advantages of each are:

OKW: largest rooms, spread out, laid back, park next to room, full-size separate washer & dryer, don't share buses(?)

BWV: Boardwalk, close to Epcot, closest to MGM

BCV: newest, closest to Epcot by a hair, Stormalong Bay pool complex

VWL: secluded, woodsy, water sports and other outdoor activities, convenient access to MK and Fort Wilderness

We have friends who are owners at OKW and were at first disappointed to hear we were staying at BCV where we bought. But later they said " It's best not to go to OKW first; if you do you'll never want to stay anywhere else".

I'll assume you are members at BCV?

Recalling what I would have liked at 15 (and 19 and in between...) I'd say stay ay BCV! You've got SAB and a short walk to 2 parks....lots of action. BWV is great too, though I don't know that most of the boardwalk entertainment would have appealed to me as a younger adult.

If you prefer it quieter, VWL is beautiful, as is OKW. If DTD is a priority, then OKW would be a good choice because of the boat. The resort seems geared towards an older crowd though (older than me even.....and I'm 30!). Still a great place to stay and its the lowest points wise with the largest rooms.

you'll enjoy wherever you stay, I'm sure!

I would stay at your home resort. You will be able to make the reservations now. For other than your home resort you would have to wait for the 7 months out date to come. You may not get what you want if you wait for the 7 month date.

First off
WELCOME HOME
I have only stayed at OKW and we just signed and sent back papers for a resale - we own also @ VWL but are 1st trip there is in DEC - but I have seen this resort and find it Beautiful - I also have pool hopped to BWV and loved the active atmosphere there - I don't think you can go wrong no matter which resort you decide to stay at:smooth:
ENJOY!

If BCV is your home resort, I'd stay there. My DS is currently 16 and LOVES SAB and Beaches & Cream. Annmarie

WELCOME HOME

Great to see more MI DVCers....we are new BCV members who have yet to take our first trip home. We are a family of 5 Dad, Mom, DS13, DD13, & DS6.
In case you're interested and didn't see the other threads... there is going to be a Dis meet at 12 oaks Mall in Novi on Sat. 9-14-02 at 1 o'clock. Depending on where in MI you are you might enjoy attending this. There is a thread asking for a head count so you can post on there or PM me if you'd like to come.

Welcome home!!! I think you will be happy at any of the resorts. If you are spending two weeks, why not try BCV and either VWL or OKW for one week each so that you can see some of the range of DVC offerings. One move in two weeks should not be real onerous. In any case, have a great trip! Good luck with your reservation.
