New DVC Magic Band Accessory

I received our bands in the mail today for our trip in May and also found a bonus accessory in the box! Cute! We went in February but didn't receive the DVC accessory. I hope this is new and I haven't thrown them away in past boxes. We have 3 reservations for our trip in May. I wonder if we will get this with the rest of the bands.

Yes, this is new. They are being included with MagicBands for DVC Reservations with a check-in date after 5/11/2014.

There are already a couple of threads on this over in the DVC-Mousecellaneous area.

Just got magic bands today for our trip in 3 weeks....NO SLIDER. Hopefully I can get one at the desk when I check in!

I called MS to purchase AP's and asked about the sliders also. The CM I spoke with was suprised I received them as he had just today received an email about them. I also saw on a couple other threads mentioning AP sliders in the boxes. We have AP's but didn't get those sliders. I asked the CM about those sliders, but he didn't know anything about them.

I asked if the sliders would be sufficent to receive DVC/AP discounts and he said no; just a decoration for now. However, they may work for discounts in the future.

The AP sliders come specifically with the AP magicbands. You need to confirm a request for those in MDE if you want the bands. They also come with a card that identifies you as an AP holder and is used for discounts if you don't have the actual AP card.

Thanks. I just looked at MDE, how do I do that? I didn't see any option under customize bands.

I have here sets of bands coming for our trip in May. I had to make three separate reservations to get the room category we wanted. The last set of bands which hasn't shipped yet have a notation of "Affiliation Disney Passholder". I didn't do anything special to get that notation. I wonder if that means we will get the AP slides?

Hmmm... Seems a bit wide for the band and would be irritating being so long. Would have been nice if Disney had just put the World Mickey Head on it instead of the entire logo. I know.... I'm just complaining.

Thanks for posting! I have not gotten a band yet (we aren't traveling until November). Does the DVC part attach like a jibbet on a Croc or does it clip on like a barrette? I guess I am wondering if you can turn it so it is parrallel with the band? I can see if digging into my arm.

The MagicBand goes through a slot in the slider, so they only go on one way.

A couple of posters have reportedly been told by MS that the resort should have them.

Got our Magic Bands yesterday for trip 5/28-6/4. It included a DVC slider for every member of our party (7) even though some of them are not members.

We are checking in on Monday 5/5 and received our bands last week. We have nine people staying at the VGF, and all of us received DVC member sliders even though only two of us are members. Kind of crazy considering some people haven't received ANY. We are also checking in well before the date DVC is giving out as a start date for these, which is 5/11.
