Don't know if anyone had already posted a photo yet, so here's one if you haven't seen the new OKW Ferry.

The prior Trumbo ferry is gone and replaced by the O.K.W. Ferry. It runs from OKW to SSR to WestSide and then to DD. It runs on the hour to 4:00 pm and then runs every 30 minutes after that. See the photo sign.

of 34 guests per hour I assume that they don't expect people to use it.
Great photos.

Thank you for the great photo!

Thanks for the photo! It looks nice. I'm also glad to see that a stop at POR is not part of the plan. I wish they had kept the Trumbo Ferry name but having DVC in the name might help deter folks from DD who just want to go for a ride.

I personally think that it seems nice. I will try it out when we are there in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the photo. When you say it runs to westside and then to DD, I am assuming DD is the marketplace side? Or do you think it goes from westside to PI?

Looks very similar to the PO/POR DTD ferry.
Glad to see they have extended the hours somewhat.

Thanks for posting the pictures - looking forward to seeing it at the end of the month!

Sorry, should have been more specific. From OKW the boat first stops at the SSR dock, then goes to the Westside dock (over behind House of Blues), then crosses to the original DD dock (marketplace, over by the Rainforest Cafe side)

Don't really know if this route is going to be permanent or not. I'm sure they will change it if it doesn't work out well.

If you're going to the original DD (by Rainforest), the trip now definitely takes longer.

Any idea of its wheelchair accessibility? Boats and waterways are not all built the same at WDW. The boats on Crescent Lake between MGM and Epcot are accessibly, while most of the time I can't use the boats near MK. Just curious.

My best guess is that it is wheelchair accessible. We have taken DD in er wheelchair on th old boat and we also rent a pontoon boat every year when we stay at OKW and bring her wheelchair on. The picture looks like a large pontoon boat.
The waterways by Epcot and the ones connecting OKW, PO and DD are actuakky canals with gates to let water in or out to change the water level. They can actually contol the water level quite well.
Bay Lake (by MK and the MK resorts) is too big for them to control the water level. They changed the docks at MK and TTC to be floating docks that handle varying water levels better. For some reaon, the dock at WL aparently can't be changed, so that one sometimes doesn't work for wheelchairs or ecvs.

Thanks for posting this Caskbill! This is something I've been wondering about for a bit now. I doubly appreciate the photos! :teeth:

I am curious about the last line on the sign...

"Please expect to Re-Board for return service"

Exactly how else would I get return service?

Or, maybe this means that they just don't want people taking a boat ride around without disembarking?

Thanks for the pics! So from SSR can we get boat transportation to anywhere else? Like Epcot?
