New Doorway to Dreams mailing(Woodfield)

The person I spoke with said to enter by the Improv, because they have approximately 200 people coming in at a time, so they're "staging" everyone by the Improv, then escorting them down to the store, rather than trying to coordinate 200 people at the front of the store. :)

The Improv is not really near the showroom. The showroom is on the upper floor of the mall just outside of Nordstrom. The Improv is also on the upper floor, but I think it's betw Lord and Taylor and center court. You can look on the mall map at shopwoodfield.com.

A local business that could have really cornered the market on mailings for the mouse at a new Midwest location really fouled up any chance that they had.

The correction email -was- cute, blaming it all on Goofy.

I just think of all the added expense and aggravation on Disney for this. They have had to put a lot of extra person-power on this to correct this situation. I give the score as:
Disney - One
Third Party Mailer - Zero!
 
After confirming with the lady on the phone that our time and date were to be Aug. 2nd at 2:00, our email arrived with Aug. 1st at 1:00!! She even said she was making a special note on ours to give to her manager. :confused3

I guess it will be another call tomorrow, but we leave on Wed. a.m. early!!

How in the world are they going to fit 200 people into that store? We shall see.

We were able to schedule today for the 1st at 3p. We were thrilled to get in as our first resale contract closed last week on Wednesday and we didn't think we'd be in the system in time to make it to the members opening.

Here's to hoping for a great incentive. We're waiting until Wednesday to add on to see if they offer anything beyond what is currently being offered.

I'm going to guess they'll take people in maybe 10 (or 20) at a time. They probably have to limit the number of people in the store (fire safety and all). I'm trying to figure how we're going to meet up with our guide during this :confused3. Only two more days and we'll find out!!!:)
 
My original reservation: 08/01 3pm

Postcard time: 08/01 8pm (I called to clear this up yesterday)

I just checked the answering machine and someone from "Disney Cruise L" called to confirm my appt for 08/02 at noon!!!

What the heck? I can't believe they have a dozen resorts with thousands of rooms and restaurants and they can keep those reservations straight, but they are having an absolute meltdown with this "experiment"

Very un-Disney!
 
Our original confirmation postcard was correct. Aug 3 at noon. We also received a call last night confirming the correct time and date. I just checked my email, and that info is right too. I thought the email was very cute. We live a few hours away, so I would be pretty frustrated if my confirmations were incorrect.

See some of you on Friday! Those going earlier will have to give us a full report!
 
Called once again...corrected the time AGAIN...hopefully this time it works.
 
Hey everyone. I'm one of the cast members that will be at the Doorway to Dreams. I cant wait to see you all this week and "Welcome you Home." I'll be at the Customer Service desk on Wed, Thurs and Friday from 5pm on and on Saturday from 1 to close. I cant wait to meet you all. Jean! Do you know what time Mickey Mouse will be at the showroom on Saturday? Will he or any other characters be ther Wed-Fri as well?

for the Grand Opening on Sat. or will it be part of the member preview days as well?

I should have been more clear in my question -sorry about that. When I mentioned "fun," I was including the freebies/contests/incentives part too, not just characters. We have already toured the AKV models in Disney and were hoping that our experience would include more than the visit to them.


I am sure the store is beautiful!
