Happy birthday Ozzie - you must be pretty far downstate, no snow here yet.

Mouseteacher - good to be back on the board -- I missed all of you guys.

Anyone heard anything from Zurg's Wife? She was going through a hard time the last post I saw.

Having a quiet saturday night with the kids watching disney specials. My husband has to go to a work christmas party and we couldn't get a sitter. I am not too disappointed and am actually looking forward to curling up with a book after the kids go to bed.

On topic -- not sure when I will get back to the Swan, but as the temps drop here, my thoughts always turn to WDW. Currently, no firm plans to go in January when we usually go, but who knows what insanity will creep into my head once winter really hits here.

oh, on topic? Disbug>> It wasn't me with the 99 AP rate, but I have been searching for it to tack on the beginning of my cbr/akl stay and change it to Swan/akl! I know there was also a rate through travelzoo, but it isn't there now.

Muffy>> Thanks a million for that little push through PMs! (I knew she was online, I put tons of faith into everyone here, and I needed the strength to say "yes" to akl concierge for a few days!) I still haven't told my principal *cover up Mouseteacher's ears* that I will be "sick" for three school days..... but I keep getting this great urge to bond with my kids. One doesn't want to bond, so I am keeping a giant hug on the one that does! NO, the money isn't quite there, but I am making it a priority.. NO hockey, NO work, just smiles and happiness... OK, my daughter turns 18 in ten days.. this does make me think about things totally differently. I do wish she would join us too, but since that isn't to be, DD and I will make our own memories, to get through the tough times down the road.

You all are so helpful so hopefully you can help me with this one. I was told when I booked the teacher rate at the Dolphin to bring my teaching certificate. On another thread someone said this isn't always enough?!?!
Will a valid teacher certificate be enough to get the rate????

KCTinkerbell - we always bring ours along, just in case we are asked. Having stayed there a few times now, they no longer seem to ask, but it is better to be prepared.

Evening everyone- well, we are booked for our Feb trip into the Dolphin. So psyched!!!
DF - you mentioned that you have picked up your rental car and returned it at the Dolphin. We are trying this also. Saved over $200, by not picking up at the airport and with the cost of a limo- we will still be saving money in the long run. BTW, who would you suggest for limo r/t . Have checked a few but made no ressies yet.

Hope you all have a great weekend - Mouseteacher and I are in for more snow tomorrow and into Monday! Could this be a potential school cancellation? I always dred this because it means an extra day in June!!!

I stayed at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider on Oahu via Priceline last year. It is the original hotel on Waikiki beach and it is awesome if you like "boutique" types of hotels. We stayed in a room in the original part of the Banyan Wing built in 1907. Very cool. We have not been to Maui and this is our first time on Kauai (home of Stitch ).

It is 1:15am on Sat. night and I just got home, but decided to post before I turned off the PC tonight. Remember my post earlier today, about how time is fleeting and you should hug your dh or ds? Well, my dh was shoveling snow this evening and had a heart attack. He is in ICU in St. Louis and hopefully will fully recover with the stent and angioplasty they did. He came in and asked me what the flu symptoms were that were going around, that he didn't feel good. He decided it was a very strange feeling and we should go to the emergency room. Good thing we did. They took him by ambulance from IL to St. Louis to do the procedures. I will repeat......hug your dh or ds today, you never know what tomorrow may bring. What next?

Sorry so off topic, just need some comfort from my sisters and bros.

OMG! Ozzie I had to read your message twice! I am so sorry to hear that your DH has had a heartattack! It does show us all how quickly things can change. I hope and pray that your DH regains his health and things return to normal for you! It does sound like he is in a good facility. Please take care! Hugs

OMG, ozzie - I was just checking in this am and couldn't believe what I was reading!!! My prayers are with you and DH - pleae, please give us updates.

Debbie -*uncovering ears* However, I know what you are feeling - DS (20) is definitely a young adult who wants to be on his own - he will be traveling to San Diego during his January break to visit a friend who is a Marine who is stationed there. He seems to much prefer to travel with his friends - a grown-up thing to do. I remember those days and doing the same thing to my parents. So make memories while you can.

Caroline~ Good to hear from you. ugh! I hate snow days this early for just that reason - we might be going to school in July!!! I have already had 3 snow days from last weekend's storm.

KCTinkerbell~ at my first stay I showed my state's teaching certificate which sufficed - the CM took a copy. On my second stay, I wasn't even asked to show anything - I, then, asked the CM if she wanted to see it and she said, "Oh, sure." as if it wasn't necessary.

geez ozziewags - one thing on top of the other! Just be grateful that you had the foresight to get him into the hospital quickly. And not that you needed it in your situation, but this is a quick little reminder to all my dis friends.....

LEARN CPR - TAKE A TRAINING COURSE!!!!

There is nothing scarier than having to give CPR to someone that has quit breathing and collapsed, but when the EMT's finally get there (it was during a parade and they were blocked in traffic) and they load them into the ambulance and they are crying and thanking you - you know YOU DID IT!!! It is one of the best feelings in the world. If you aren't comfy with the idea of someone else's mouth , most hospital gift shops have small things you can attach to your key rings with a breathing mask/protector inside. A lot of the nurses around here have one on their keyring 'just in case'.

I am sooooo glad you got it quickly and they are taking A#1 care of him. That is wonderful. Hopefully his stay is short term and he will be home for the holidays - it seems like they have them in and out so quickly these days.

DF- thank you for the link. My first attempt at pricing this is ending up super high. I'm not quite sure what I am doing wrong but I have to play around a little bit. I can't get rid of one kids WetN Wild ticket that wants to be in there . Then I end up at $265 nite without passes. I may check again after first of year for specials.

Ozziewags My heart and prayers go out to you....my dad had the same thing happen in July...ended up with 2 stents....he had a major coranary 10 years ago and things have change unbelieveably since then he said...Prayers and rest should do your DH well....keep us posted.

On the Zurg household My dad is home from the hospital..the bleeding stopped but they still aren't sure where it was coming from..keeping our fingers crossed that rest (something my dad wasn't doing) will make things heal and stop bleeding...

Hope all of you have a great week...I will be packing and running errands like a mad woman...for my last 5 days....YIPPEEE.....We decided to stay the first night at Pop century as I got a AP rate of $49 per night..need 2 rooms but still a good deal...

PS...Purchased a new frig...

I fell in love with this about a year ago ...was to be purchased when we started the addition...but my old frig is dying and I decided to get it now....Sears is the only place that makes it....Gotta love sears....
