Zurgswife ~ Your family will be in our prayers, I hope your DD will be feeling better soon. It's so hard as a parent to see our children hurting.

I think my last post was lost

I just realized my DD will be on medication that need to be refridgerated during our stay. Does the S/D charge full price for the rental for medications?

DD Rachel's hearing test went well. She is still deaf on her right side. Her left ear continues to hear speech only, no highs and lows. She has not had any futher loss in 1 year and 2 months so that is a blessing. Please continue to keep her in prayers that her "progressive hearing loss" will stay stable as long as possible. We are alll looking foward to our trip and the girls are starting to ask how much longer until we go to Disneyworld :hyper:

Hope everyone is having a good Monday :wave2:

Zurgswife, No words of wisdom here but sending prayers and pixie dust. It sounds like you have all the bases covered. Best of luck to you and your family.

Disbug, Count me in on a Dis meet in July! Thank you for organizing this. I think it would be GREAT to meet everyone at the S/D! Please keep us informed!

Right now i am very excited about our planned Christmas trip! DD is big into the planning too! disfanRN, I'm glad you had a nice time at the Dolphin. Did you get a renovated room with the wonderful Heavenly Beds? People are reporting that non renovated rooms now have new Heavenly bed matteresses at the Dolphin. Looks like they are taking steps to keep everyone comfy! Glad you made it home safely!

Bye for now!

Muffy

Zurgswife: I'm praying and believing in healing for your DD and peace for you and family.

Mom Poppins -
My understanding is that the refrigerator is at no charge if needed for medication. Not sure if they require any "proof" (other than maybe the medication itself, if even that.) Also - if your room is not ready they should be able to store the medication for you until it is.

Zurg's wife........big hugs, prayers and pm on their way. Thanks for sharing. I know you will seek out the best help for your daughter.

Thanks Bill ~ I will call and add it to our reservation request. The medication states on it "must be refridgerated". Hope all is going well your way :wave2:

zurgswife~Your DD health issue and your worries just tugs at my heart. There is no quick fix, no magic med that will make it all go away. I have a student in my school who has depression - he is 8 years old. It is a roller coaster for the child, the family, the teachers. Our school counselor works with him every week and supports the teachers when they become worried for him.

Keep up your love and patience and your team effort in treating her. PD and prayers coming your way from me.

disfanRN~ I am so happy your trip went so well. Brrrrrrrrrr...69 degree pool water - not for me. I guess that's why I'm a summer person.

I have one of those horrid fall colds - passed on to me by my loving family who all had it first! Guess they didn't want to leave me out. Headed to bed.

*waving from an upright position* I have been home all day... checked the DIS a few times, but didn't have the stregth to post! I think I might have given Mouseteacher that cold, too! Sorry Mouseteacher! Lets just say the weather is doing a job on my allergies/sinuses, but I will be fine! I hope you also get better soon!

Zurgswife>> Plenty of prayers and PD for your dd and your family. I will keep you in my prayers.

On topic>> Swan v. Dolphin would be similar to asking what building you want at a deluxe or moderate.. but with deluxe amenities! Don't fret, pick one, and enjoy all of their restaurants, stores, and lobby areas!

Disfanrn>> Just remember.. in February we're going to be calling 69 degrees a horribly hot heatwave! LOL Glad you had a wonderful vacation after your room plans were all worked out!

Love ya, mean it! <----where is #27?
Debbie

Mom Poppins- they will provide a fridge free of charge for meds, I just had one for 12 days-no problem. Just be prepared you will probably have to call for it when you get to your room also. Both times I have stayed, at Swan and Dolphin, it was never in the room when I arrived. My drug manufacturer recommends storing the med in an insulated bag with ice during travel, replacing ice as needed. If your room isn't ready, they have a small frige at the bellman desk. Hope this helps, also I didn't need any proof, just the label on the prescription.

I just wanted to thank you all for your advice.

I made my reservations for my honeymoon next year at the Swan.

I can't wait to try out that heavenly bed ;)

Sarah

Mouseteacher and Hockeymom, Try Zicam cold remedy to shorten the duration of your cold. It really works! Push the vitamin C and Enchinacea too. Love ya, mean it ;)

Thanks for the advice, Muffy!

My head might be stuffed, but did anyone else notice that our "almost a bride" said she couldn't wait to "try out" the beds? Oh to be a young bride again! :)

I have a question for those who have had a king bed in either the Swan or the Dolphin. Did you have a fold out sleeper in your room? On the off chance that DD really means it when she says she isn't going withh us this Easter, I was thinking a King room might give us more space since it would just be the three of us in the room. DS can sleep on anything and he's happy. This way we might even switch over our ressies and go for one of those turret balconies.. and maybe send ds down to the arcade with a handful of quarters? ahhh that is wishful thinking I am sure! :)

Love ya, mean it!

Debbie - we had a King Balcony Room at the Swan with a couch(loveseat size). I am almost positive it was a pull-out. (we didn't use it though)

Dreamflight-Thanks for your encouragement regarding the sold out status at The Swan during our stay. We unfortunately had to move to another hotel for our last night. It was quite a letdown after staying at The Swan, but we didn't get back from MNSSHP until 1am so we managed. We checked everyday for availability, even at the Dolphin with no luck. They even turned us down for a late checkout. I have to wonder if it had anything to do with the rate we had for our 2 rooms. We had 1 room with cash and points-$60 and another with an AP rate of $139. On the last day when we checked on the availability the front desk was QUICK to let us know there would likely be no luck with a room at a Cash and Points rate even though we never asked for that rate for the extra night. We still had a wonderful time and highly recommend the Swan/Dolphin to everyone Disney bound!

For those debating between Swan or Dolphin just choose one and enjoy. Our room(Swan-East wing) seemed as close to Tubbi's as our previous room at The Dolphin. Also, we have 2 small children and diidn't feel out of place at all

Dan, how nice of you travel over here to our humble S/D thread to wish Kim well. We are a very supportive group here and will continue to sprinkle lots of P and PD on the zurg family.

*sniffling, sneezing and stuffiness*
I am armed with Zicam, Tylenol and tissues!!! I left work early yesterday and hope to put in a full day today. How about you, Debbie?

I had a King bed at the Swan with the loveseat sofa and it was a pull out.
