SATURDAY, JULY 26th
DD14 and I leave Jacksonville after loading all the luggage, cooler, etc.. into our van. Can still see out the rear window (barely!) "Hugs & Kisses! Bye, Bye, See-you-soons" (to DH, DD8, and DD2 who will join us tomorrow) and off we go! Quick stop in St. Augustine for official Disney souvenirs at the Disney Character Warehouse. Find some great "Pirates of the Carribean" Pirate spyglass/periscopes. Everyone must have one (for 69 cents)! Just past St. Augustine, potholes in I-95 South slow us down and adds about an hour to our journey. But, hey, we're going to Disney World! (We have gas, and we had a potty break!) Raining off and on, but I don't remember noticing!
We get to the "Glorious Disney World Arch" and I start whistling. DD14 has to put on her headphones and shake her head. "Mom you ARE pitiful!" she says with a smile. We get to the Swan and John our "first" luggage handler gets everything out and on a cart while we check in. Our room is ready and up we go. But, now it's not John, it's someone else! Oops! After unloading all the luggage, we go back down to head off to Mass at Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine (and to find John to give him his tip!) Of course, John has now gone home in the space of what, 20 minutes?

All right, John, I owe you one (good excuse for going back soon!)
A side note: Okay, did everyone catch that? The valet actually unloads your luggage, puts it on a cart and parks your car. Then a bellman brings the luggage to your room. Just wanted everyone to be ready for the "double-tip"! Which, I don't mind... just wasn't prepared for!
Stopped off at the Front Desk to leave Mouseteacher her name tag made by "moi"! At first they were confused since I didn't have her last name, but I said if these are filed alphabetically, I'm sure "M" will do!
After Mass we explored the Shrine's lovely gift shop, and then did a drive-through for Chick-fil-A sandwichs (I'm addicted to those things) And now drum-roll, we walk into the Royal Beach Club lounge for the first time. It is beautiful! The gentleman at the desk has silver hair and is very quiet, but has a nice smile! We enjoyed all of the crudites offered and some hot wonton hors doeuvres. Didn't stay too long. Just enough to sample everything and enjoy the view.
Our room awaits... we must unpack! I only unpack enough for 5 days and 4 nights. I use the drawer between the bed for all the baby's formula, diapers, anything she might need. Set up a battery charging station at the bureau (the lamp has an outlet on it, cool!) and a cell phone/camcorder charging station at the night stand. Leave all the snacks in a small suitcase on top of the bureau for snack attacks! We are ready! See you tomorrow!
