~mouseteacher~ too bad about the Dis Meet:( I surely hope you get that beautiful Italian charm bracelet (not that I plan on stopping by to check them out;) !) *My birthday is coming up in August! I do hope we run into each other...!

~kimmar~ I just sent you a PM! Talk about deja vu!!

~Muffy~We're going to be staying at the Swan for the first 4 days, then moving to BWV, and finally on to the WL. (What was I thinking??) Thanks for the great list of tips!

~ozzie~ Wonderful, wonderful photos! And thank you too, for your tips!

Good night everyone!

Ozzie--Now I can see the pictures! They're wonderful--glad you had a good time and sorry we didn't get a chance to meet--were you traveling only with your daughter? a teenager with short dark hair? I was looking around the club each time i was there! We were hard to miss! There were 7 of us, usually together.

Mouseteacher and others going soon--I wanna go back! Now!
(Stamping feet!)

needabreak~ You're not too far away from me - I'll save a small space in my suitcase for ya! i'm sure you won't take up too much room. Come on over!!!;)

Ozzie great pictures, cannons have great reviews, good pictures and not too pricey.
mouseteacher hope your getting stuff together, i cna't wait to hear about your trip!
Can any recent swan visitors tell me if they have kept the beach theme in the hallways and carpets or have they been redone as well?

Hi to all you S/D enthusiasts. I need some advice. My travel agent snagged us a decent deal at the Dolphin $180 (if you see the prices now for Deluxe resorts) it's a bargin. We will be down 8/17. My question is we are a family of 5. Kids are 14, 11, 7. Will we fit in a standard room or will it be too tight? I am also a bit concerned about all this construction I've been hearing about. I need to book today or we lose the deal.

splashfamily ~ You should be fine in the room since your youngest is only 7. Are you thinking of getting a rollaway? I have two very tall, (late teens) DSs and when we went they could not share a bed - too uncomfortable. We wanted to call for a rollaway but both said not to - they made up a make shift bed on the floor (go figure  - teens) and took turns sleeping there. They both said it helped dealing with DH's snoring! :p

Mouseteacher~ We planned on the rollaway. We have been fortunate on our past trips to get upgrades. I am not sure if this will happen this time.
Another question-- we will have a rental car. Do we have to pay for parking at parks. Normally wdw resort guest parking fees are waivered. We stayed at the Dolphin years ago but my DS (then 2) stayed with grandma. Can't remeber that far back about the parking.
Thanks

Yes, you receive all the same perks as staying at a Disney resort except the ability to charge to your room.

Greetings all, I have a question. What floors are the Club Level floors at the Dolphin and is there a Club Room on each of the two floors? And, are there Jr Suites on these two floors? Have a suggestion on which floor is better?

Thanks for your help!

Hi all you S/D folks,
We are staying at the Swan for 5 nights in Sept. and will have a rental car. We like to travel to other resorts for dinner at night and I was wondering, will we get a piece of paper for our dashboard showing we are Disney resort guests, so we can just go on in and park at the resort we are dining at?
We have always stayed at the “real” WDW resorts and have traveled to other resorts without a problem with this pass.
Do we get those priveleges at the Swan too?
Thanks for a reply,
astraltravel

Mouseteacher............5 days and counting! Are you completely packed yet? I was LOL about you deciding on the "big suitcase".
On my last trip, I think I only had an extra shirt or two. I'm getting better! I still way overpack for my ds though(6).

How long are you going to be there again?

Kapp ~ Dolphin Club Level is on the 12th floor. There is only one Club Room and it is located on the 12th floor. I do believe there are jr. suites on this floor.

mary~ LOL, one suitcase for the both of us - but most of it will contain my stuff!! I thought I was getting better at packing but I still take more shorts and T-shirts than I will need. I always believed that was another great thing about a Disney trip - the only thing you need to pack is shorts, T-shirts, bathing suits and sneakers. Simple, right? We are taking a "short" vacation this time - 5 days/4nights. Since we are without DSs, we are treating this as our anniversary get away. :)

The suitcase is out and I have piled our clothes in the guest room getting ready to some ironing. I have organized our toiletries and have been crossing items off my list.

I just had to announce that I am now caught up! I have managed to read all 93 pages of posts!
Thanks for all the great info and tips.....

Joanne,
Congratulations! I remember when I started this list I did the same thing. Never thought I would make it and now I can't go a day without reading and posting! lol

Mouseteacher.....getting close...you are so organized! Never would I share a suitcase with dh! Two small ones first!

Splashfamily and astraltravel...no charge for parking. As mouseteacher stated, same perks as disney resorts except for charging to your room, unless in S or D. I drove to AKL for dinner and showed them my room key and they gave me a pass to put in my windshield. Personally, I like the security in the parking lots.

needabreak...yes that was probably my daughter. (we were alone this trip). You had 7? All adults? how many kids? I thought of posting a sign in there for you, but didn't have anything to do it with! I loved the pecan rolls in the morning. Yum. Having withdrawal.

Joanne ~ good for you - what diligence to read every page! But I do have to agree wholeheartedly with ozzie - I can't go without reading and posting. I lurked here for 3 months last July thru Sept. (it was just prior to our first trip to the Dolphin and b/c of the advice I was reading we got a comp upgrade to CL). Then, I just couldn't resist any longer and jumped in to post in October. It has been a "love-in" ever since - great people, great advice.

ozzie ~ LOL - I allow him to pack with me - but I control the inventory. ;)

Hi Everyone,

I'm back on-line after a long hiatus. I intend to start reading this entire thread. I've really missed reading and corresponding about WDW and the Swan/Dolphin. (Sigh) Home again!

Thanks everyone! I can tell that you are a great group of people after reading all of your posts!
Not all of the threads are so friendly. Thank goodness nobody debates pool hopping or reusing the refillable mugs here!!
:D

WOW! Some of you have countdown clocks that are almost done counting! *happydancingwithyou* Don't forget the moleskin and the bandaids!

Debbie

I love reading the posts, just wish I had started reading them earlier...... Leaving in a week with two eighteen year olds (my DS and his girlfriend) and my 22 year old DD. Started planning the vacation with 10 days at OKW but have added 3 nights at Boardwalk and 2 nights at the Swan at the teacher rate. (Couldn't get additional teacher rate nights at the Swan since they were booked)
We are looking forward to this vacation since my daughter had an operation for a non-malignant bone tumor last Oct. She is recovered however she has a rod, plate and several screws in her femur. She is a little worried about the walking but is really looking forward to the pools.:D
