wow, Ozzie...the pictures are WONDERFUL! What a view, makes me want to ride the TOT this eve. I had to laugh as I read your post and the "It was lovely, and not crowded....even at Christmas time!" That's because this resort is NOT a DISNEY OWNED property! I'll bet the other places were "packed to the Gills"...LOL!

Yes I'm SPG Gold due to the Amex Card( by the way I had no trouble upgrading) and have more than enough points to upgrade. We have basically put everything on the card since we got it in January( groceries, gas-that's a fortune, husband's golf club dues, etc.) I"d pay with points but if I don't have to use them I can have a free visit to NYC to see my oldest when we return. I'm also planning to upgrade a friend with my points if this is allowed so a complimentary upgrade would be terrific.
I'll check the website before we leave and hope for the best, but just being there is the best so we'll already be thrilled.

I did last evening. I called Starwood and said, I understand that if you are a Plat. AMEX Starwood card holder you get an upgrade to Gold Level. The nice person we spoke with, said indeed we do and changed it in the computer and wella- 2 minutes later
I checked the site and it was there!!

Emme- What does the green ribbon mean? Silly me, I dont know, but I sure will wear one. We are driving down also, Leaving at noon on Friday. We will arrive Sat even and check in Sunday. Hope we see you there.

Dreamflight99 - love these boards, dont know what I would have done without them. All the trips to Disney we have made, this seems to be the one that has had the most planning. Last time we were at PO for 2 full weeks and took it realy easy. This time we have to cram everything into 5 days.

We still dont have our points posted yet. So everyone send good vibes our way. Tommarrow I help my DD's pull out their summer clothes from last year.

Hi, everyone,

I just used the cash and point to book my 3rd night at Dolphin for May, the first 2 nights are via Priceline.

Here is my dilemma: I just checked SPG's website and found out that I am put on the club level for the cash & point night. However, my other 2 nights are with Priceline, what is the best way to make sure I can have the same room, all club level?

I guess I should send them an e-mail, explaining this, see what happens.

disnurse ~ Good morning to you, I clicked on the details of reservation and saw the decription of the room change from standard room, limited view, etc. to Club Level room, turn down service, whimsical theme, etc.

moms23guy2 ~ I booked 2 rooms on my teacher rate - one for my brother and his family. So, my reservation on spg showed 2 reservations each with a diiferent ressie #. Both rooms received the comp upgrade to CL. Upon check-in, I put both room charges on my AMEX cc to get the maximum points and # of stays. DB then paid me later. The CM told us we could pay either way - DB pay his room and we pay our or I pay both to get all those points. I have 13,000+ points and hope to use them this summer for a weekend getaway somewhere driving distance from home.

I wondered how they watch on CL so that nonCL guests are not using the room. Our first time using the CL, no one was at the desk to check. I suppose the CM began to recognize us. Also, at certain times of the year, when it is considered a busy time, does the Club Room get crowded? We were there last week of Aug. and arrived for breakfast each morning during the 7:00-8:00 am hour and thee was never more than 1 family of four and an occasional business person. There were 8 of us and we could certainly take up a good deal of space once we were all together in the room.

ozzie ~ help I have uploaded pictures to imagestation. When I post a picture, it only shows a red x. I hand copied the url (that long number and letters?) and then typed it in the pop up screen img. Do I type in the address plus the url? Help, I'm stuck! Thanks in advance.

It's April and it is lightly snowing and sleeting. Our ground is covered with snow AGAIN! Winter just won't quit and weather reports tell us more snow on Monday.

mouseteacher.....don't panic....let's see, it could be a couple things. First be sure to 'highlight' the pic, then right click on it, then click on properties. 'Highlight' the url(which is that long address. Then, right click on the url address and click on 'copy'. Next, go back to your post and click on IMG. When you get the pop up screen it begins with: http://. Right click and when you see the little box, click on 'paste'. Your url address will be pasted into the IMG space. Then click on OK. It will come up in your post like

I am sitting with DH trying to justify a trip to the Swan in late July using cash and points for a 4 day 3 night trip for our anniversary. I am doing a rough calculations of what the total trip would $ and trying to get over the guilt of leaving DS (18 and 20) home. After all, someone needs to take care of our dog.

I'm having trouble trying to make the pix larger for the post.

Posting our pix really makes me long to do the late July trip! I checked on availability through spg and there are rooms and flights are available, too. Now I just have to convince myself we can spend the $$$$.

Kelli: Yup, I hope so too!! Its 9:15 here and I have already heard "we need to go to the mall" 3 times this morning!!! But actually, they are both near the same size, so they mix amoung ech other allot. Gives them both a double wardrobe. Ohh to be 14 and 16 again.......

Sent a letter off last evening to the Swan, explaing my points "problem" and slightly "begging" for an upgrade if the points don't come through. Nothing back yet. Wonder if the red mail on the weekends??????

Off to pack!!! And Walmart for those last minute essentials!! I KNOW the girls wont be joining me there(LOL)

Hi Everyone! We just returned from beautiful Walt Disney World and we have a question. While we were there we visited the Dolphin/Swan and LOVED it! The resort was beautiful! I can get the teacher discount and we are thinking about it for next time. Here is our question. As we were looking at the pool we noticed a huge...over 1000 people buffet for a convention set up around the quieter pool. The front desk said that was common. Do all the convention people make the resort very crowded? We are especially concerned about the daytime periods around the pool. Did you feel as if you were in the middle of a convention? We have read on these boards that the Swan/Dolphin didn't feel disney...we would have to disagreee...we thought it was great! Thanks for your help.
