New Disneyland App is up and running

Huh. I stay logged in. I just checked after not looking at for a couple of days and still logged in.

Weird..maybe there is something in my Android settings doing this? All my other apps stay logged in though. I will have to play around with it. Thanks!

I have my log in (which is the same one as this) to the various Disney sites checked to "remember me." Not sure if that has something to do with it or not.

We used the app at the parks today and I have to say I'm impressed with the accuracy so far. As others have mentioned, prior to this app I have never seen a centralized DLR character schedule with times. We would always have to rely on character handler CMs and their trusty paper schedules. But to see the exact times and frequency of the characters on this app (like the WDW app) was exciting. We tested it out today with the Main Street characters to get some of the Fab Five (plus Chip, Dale, and Daisy) in their Diamond Celebration outfits and the app was spot on. It said Chip and Dale would be there between 10:00 and 10:15 and sure enough they came out exactly at 10:00 and headed back at 10:15. The schedule held true to the other characters we searched for as well. It even lists roaming characters like Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Bert, Alice, and the Mad Hatter. The spontaneity of characters was gone a long time ago. Might as well plan and make the best use of your precious time in the parks.

On a side note, the ride times for the few that we tracked were pretty accurate as well. A couple of things that would be nice to add to the app are what the current FP return times are, and menus for restaurants. But so far I think it's a pretty handy app.

I really like that it has the entertainment schedule. No more having to carry around the paper schedule anymore. I only wish that it was sorted by location - ie DL, DCA, DTD, hotel.

It lets you sort by location. On the bottom right hand corner click on the symbol that looks like a golf tee. You can choose specific locations (DL, DCA, DTD, etc)

I thought it was a "sound" button, looked like the speaker icon. Thanks!

If you go to the list and select a character, it will tell you what time that character will be appearing. On the map, it's just the location, not broken down by times.

Oh, didn't find this feature yet - off to look now! First time in this thread as I downloaded the app today and am so excited to hear some feedback from users - how exciting!!!

That's great to know - thanks for reporting back. I was/am so excited to use it and didn't think how it would ruin the surprise element. The kids have been tracking it all night so I will be telling a few small white lies when we are actually there as we roam the park, so they too can feel that part of the magic. Thanks for mentioning that :) Is Mary Poppins there every day?! We'd so LOVE LOVE LOVE to see her!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG so excited at the thought!!!

Think Disney wants user feedback for future updates? A link to the menus on the restaurant description would best awesome!

There is an indirect way to get menus and prices using this app. Find a restaurant with Table Service like Blue Bayou. Click on Book A Table and the app redirects you to Disney.Go listing 94 restaurants , pick the one you want from the list and click on View Menu.

It isn't just you; I've had to log in every time, too. If you figure out how to stay logged in, please post it here. Thanks!

I'm on an iPhone and I always get the login screen also but you don't have to login. You can just swipe down and it'll take you to the wait times.

Having trouble logging into the app, and was wondering if anyone was having similar. I enter my password, and the "sign in" button is available up until the point I enter special characters which are part of my password at which point then the "sign in" button is grayed out. I can't imagine I am the only one with special characters (IE !@#$ etc) in my password, but thought would see if anyone else is having similar issue? I am running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) on my Galaxy Note 3.

Tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but no luck :(

Thanks!

Having the same issue, and if you use the feedback link in the app the email bounces because it gets re-directed too many times so you can't even tell them it needs to be fixed. I don't have an AP so I don't technically have to login but irritating anyway.

I've sent an email as well via the feedback link. So far haven't gotten a return message saying failed to send due to too many bounces.

Not an AP holder as well myself, but would like to see if current reservations show up in it. An alert would be nice for reminding of upcoming reservations. Wanted to play around with that some.

We used the app on Saturday and loved it! My DH and I both have it installed on our iPhones. The only drawback which is a big one, is that it drained the batterie on our phone very quickly. Has anyone else noticed this? And should I change something in settings to help this?

I have heard this. My advice would be to force close the app when you aren't using it and maybe turn off data, wifi, bluetooth, location, etc unless you need these things/are using the app. These things will drain your battery.

You can set it up to use location services "only when is use" under the settings on your phone then like the PP mentioned make sure you close it down each time. However, I'm not seeing a reason to have location services on for the app. I turned them off because well, I'm not there, lol and I'm still getting all the info. I can't see why it would be needed if you can't link FPs or get real time FP info anyway. Maybe if you're unfamiliar with the parks and need to see where you are in relation to where you want to go. Does it show your location on the map?
