New Disney Visa "Inspire" card

Well, I applied yesterday and got the "we need to review...respond in 7-10 business days." Called this morning and talked to the Reconsideration department and told it was denied because of the 5/24. I was hoping that my exceptional credit rating would get me a pass on that, but no luck. Darn those tempting store credit card promotional offers during Christmas! Lol.

Sounds like my options are to upgrade my existing Disney card or wait and reapply once I'm out of the 5/24 restriction next summer. Does anyone know if I was to upgrade and then they had a promotion next summer if I would be eligible for that? From what I am reading it sounds like I would be since I have not received a promotion specifically for the Disney Inspire card. But, would I have to close down my Disney credit card since I had upgraded to Inspire and then reapply? That would mean there would be a possibility that I would not get approved and then not have any Disney visa card at all.
If upgrade to the inspire they will most likely not approve a new app for that card. You can upgrade now to the card and then downgrade when you have dropped under 5/24.

If you upgrade now remember that won’t come with the welcome offer of the $300 statement credit and gift card but will come with increased multiplier on Disney spend and would qualify for the $200 Disney Dollars and $100 statement credit if you met the spend in those categories.

Good advice. I didn't think about downgrading and then reapplying after that. Appreciate it!

Upgraded to Inspire last Saturday, still waiting on card to arrive in the mail. Can I still use my current Premier card to pay down the DCL payment we have (with that CVV) and still get the 3% and count toward our resort/dcl yearly amount or do I need to wait for the new card to arrive?

You can use your current card if you upgraded

Any experiences yet with how long the "Spend $2,000 per anniversary year on DCL, receive $200" benefit actually takes to post after spending? Ts&Cs say 6-8 weeks; has anyone seen this post yet?

The card has been out for maybe 3 weeks? We don’t have any DP’s yet.

I have a new DVC contract and will be paying my dues in a lump sum. I'll need to pay this within 4-5 weeks or so. Typically I use discounted gift cards for dues. However if I get the new Inspire Visa, would that be a better deal/reward for paying the DVC dues?

Since you would be using the credit on something you normally would use Gift cards for anyway its easier to just pay with the card now and spend time getting good GC deals for future Disney costs.

I wouldn’t except whatever you have left to meet the bonus which was only $1,000. If you put any of your contract you have already met that requirement most likely.

Your new inspire will get 3% for dues.
At minimum you’ll receive 5% with a Target Red card or buying cards at an Office supply store with an ink cash.
