New Disney Visa "Inspire" card

Haven't read this thread, just the first page of posts. But I ask this, in the future, do you think more and more merchants will start charging to use reward based credit cards? Like Walmart, Home Depot, Amazon, ect? And if so, will such cards really be worth it?

I havent had time to comb the fine print. So I will ask any of any of you have. If I upgrade to this card now, does that make me ineligible for future bonuses? I could use the $200 credit this weekend but I am not wanting to do a new app, but I may want to in the future.

I feel like thats probably a discussion for another thread. Many people have opinions on this (as seen in other threads) and as of now thats all they are opinions, no facts. Those opinions shouldn't really factor into getting this card or not.

For those with pending DVC purchases, it's quite possible (not guaranteed) the credit for spending $2000 might work on a direct DVC purchase so that is really cool. @ClaraOswald bare minimum I would upgrade my card before another payment. You'd have to decide if a new card app should worth $600 or not.

Yeah, I'd definitely like that $600. Gotta wait for my husband to get off work and we'll get our credit unfrozen and apply.

I will report back on if the DVC installment payment counts towards the $2000 spend when my card arrives and I can switch it over. Either way, I want that extra 1% off on the upcoming payment.

When is your next DVC payment scheduled? Mine is on the 15th so I hope I'd get a physical card by then if I apply (and get approved) tonight. Otherwise, I could probably call and have them put it farther. Our last payment is right on the 45-day mark in mid-March so I technically could push it as far as that, if needed, I'm sure.

So would souvenirs and dining in the parks (Disneyland and WDW) be 3% back? But all non-Disney stuff is still the 2% like the Premier. Correct?

I assume with 2 Disney trips a year, we'd easily make up for the extra $50 in annual fee.

It's a rolling 24-month wait period to get a SUB again on the same card (that includes going from Premier to Inspire).

I got the Premier in 2023 and was able to get the SUB today since it had been over 24 months. So get the new card, wait 24+ months, downgrade the old card, rinse & repeat.

Extra $100 fee. Also, put some of that merch and dining toward your room charge first so you can hit the $200 back

Are you sure about the part in parenthesis? I thought the terms did not treat all Disney Visas as a family of cards for welcome bonus purposes. I would think that product changing from Premier to Inspire would not reset the clock for a bonus every 24 months because that change does not generate a bonus. I was thinking that after the card anniversary, one could downgrade and then apply for the Inspire to get the bonus (since one didn't get it upon product change a year prior).

We have near identical timelines. Chase said 3-5 days for the new card. Should have it in plenty of time for the mid Feb next payment.

I didn't word that well. I mean having a Premier and applying for the Inspire to change cards. I am getting the SUB for a new app on Inspire despite already having a Premier separately (applied for over 24 months ago). If you do a product change then I expect the 24 month window to be based still on the original SUB for the original application.

Worth noting is the $2k spend includes DCL stateroom purchases but not folio expenses while the Disney Resort stays include folio expenses.

For those hoping the $2k counts for DVC dues purposes if you can wait for DPs from others here, do. This wording could indicate Disney and Chase are being more careful about the category coding for this particular item.

Does this mean that any merch charged to the room at WDW will count towards the 2K?
