New Disney trivia (at least new to me)

The dragon represents a part of Animal Kingdom called "Beastly Kingdom". It was supposed to be a land dedicated to all the mythical creatures. However, that plan has been put on the shelf indefinitely. Somewhere in the park, I don't remember exactly where, there is a statue of a weird looking creature that stands at where the entrance would be if Beastly Kingdom was actually there.

Wow, I definitely spend way too much time reading Disney stuff.

You're right! I thought I knew all Disney trivia. My oldest dd and I came across this today.

SoccerDogWIthEars, I just told you that you are so much like my daughter. She is a Disney trivia nut. Her friends tell her she needs a life. She say's Disney is her life!!!

DAK was to celebrate all creatures. The living, the extinct, and the mythical. They have just started on the mythical with the Yeti theme in Expedition Everest.

Oh yeah. I actually went out with a guy for a while who was a member of DVC. All of our friends thought we were insane for obsessing. I am just totally in love with Disney. My friends never want to play Disney Trivial Pursuit anymore.

I didn't even think about the Yeti being part of the mythical creatures. Hope they continue!

SoccerDogWithEars, where does the statue stand? I don't think I've ever seen it.

Anyone have a photo?

According to the unofficial guide, it is on the riverbank to your right as you cross the bridge over Safari River and into Camp Minnie-Mickey, near an "odd looking cave". I've never seen it either, but I read about it. Supposedly the idea for it has been around since 1997.
