New Disney Theme Park reservation system

Any idea when the park reservation system will start? We have an 8/9-21 BWV on points and AP’s. I hate not having a clue as to what is going on.

No one knows yet but it is rumored that we will get details on how it will work in about 2 weeks or so,

It also sounded like it may not allow people to try more than 30 days from the trip....but, its currently in flux so lots is subject to change.

If I linked two reservations to my MDE and then modified them to add a person do I need to read them? Noticed a reservation number came up when I did it but not sure if it’s the same one

I'm wondering if this makes park hopping impossible. I rarely spend the whole day in one park. My favourite place to end the day is Epcot. I was considering an AP but no park hopping reduces the value.

Question also remains when do annual passes start their countdown? In Shanghai Disney hasn't started the countdown on AP expirations while the reservation system is in place. Im wanting to activate my APs in Aug so I wonder if they will show 366 days until the countdown starts. Parking hopping is a great value for AP so not having that is a big negative.

Current rumor from my sources are that park hopping will be suspended and that once they open ticket sales, it won’t be an option.

I also think the email I got about my AP and some features not being available , leads me to believe this will happen.

For how long, not sure, but my guess is at least a few months at a minimum.

Wonder if Disney will issue a refund of some sort to AP holders now you can't park hop? Maybe they just won't start the AP countdown until park hopping is back? Our TA friend also said a big meeting will happen on June 10th with more info. See if that happens or not.

Link appears to be blocked but it was WDWNT. Im pretty surprized onsite guesses won't be guaranteed a theme park reservation. Alot of money to spend for a partical theme park vacation. They simple must need more cancelations...

I was so excited about my late September trip and now I'm so frustrated, I just want to cry.

Rented DVC points-for the first time ever-and our first time staying at AKL Kidani. I have almost all of it paid for, and was planning on buying my tickets in May, but waiting to find out if it would even be open or not. So they finally announce opening and then suspend ticket sales. Now, I have a very nice, 2 bedroom villa at AKL but no tickets. I got the email saying that I would get priority for park reservations(I guess because I'm listed as DVC) but with no tickets I won't be able to do it. What a sucky situation. Not trying to bring anybody down, I'm just venting since I don't have anywhere else to do it.

So what’s been suggested over on the rumors forum is that the parks reservations will be on a rolling 30 day basis...is anyone else concerned that if this is the case that’s one day less than our DVC deadline to cancel/modify reservations without points going into holding? I really hope this isn’t true. We JUST bought two DVC contracts and haven’t even gotten to take our first stay as DVC owners—it was meant to be the first week of July but it now cancelled. I know as DVC owners we are not guaranteed parks but this just doesn’t seem right.

Undercover Tourist is still selling tickets that people have added to their MDE app successfully. Might be worth thinking about...

I just saw that and maybe DVC will end up changing holding to less than 30 days, so members know situation.

It wouldn’t be a huge difference to change it by 2 days to match the park reservation system.

Thanks for the positive words, Sandisw. I do appreciate them. I really hope they will take that into account. I was so excited to become a DVC member and know I took on an ownership and all that entails but it’s been a pretty depressing journey for us thus far. I just want ONE trip

It’s a rumor. I wouldn’t put any credence to it. They said ADRs at 60 days and you have to have a park reservation first so that doesn’t make the 30 day rumor reasonable. I still think they will do something special to keep from having a mass cancellation of DVC rooms.

The 30 day rumor for park reservations is coming from a reliable source who posts on the Rumors boards with connections, if he put it out there, its a pretty good one and people should expect it.

The 60 days ADR is for when the system gets back to normal, they said right now, it’s all on hold

I don’t understand how this works you buy a ticket blind and then get into a reservation lottery of some kind that tells you if you got your preferred park or offers you secondary options? Is this how others are interpreting their plans?
