New Disney Race in Sat Oct 27(Night Run) & Minnie Rumor

Oh Krista, we have gone to WDW the last week of Oct/first week of Nov. so many times and it is a lovely time to go (as long as it is before Jersey Week). So if you want to persuade her NOT to go, you may have to fib a bit. Mid November for Thanksgiving is a good time also!!!!

My daughters b-day is the 29th and I know she would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go. But I am afraid I may not have enough funds to go that many times. We are currently planning an end of summer trip before school starts for the kids.

Maybe once the final info is up I can make my decision. MAYBE I CAN GO SOLO!!!

Okay, I am officially a not nice person. I went ahead and took Monday Oct 29 and Tuesday Oct 30 off. If we go, I'm planning on taking Wednesday off as well, but if I do that then I will have to mess with the 3 days I have off at Christmas and I don't want to mess with those until I absolutely have to ie. when more info on the race is released. If we end up not going to WDW in October, Stephen is definitely running Marine Corps which is the same weekend, so I need at least Monday off regardless. She is going to be so mad when she realizes I am off already that week (I turned my time off slip in to my boss and I wrote it on the calendar we have up in the dept). But you know what, I don't care. I don't care for 3 reasons: 1. I'll be really surprised if she does go to WDW at all much less that particular week in October.
2. There are 2 other people in my dept and they are both screwing me all the time, I can't tell you how many times I've been the only one at work because one is off and the other calls in that morning or leaves super early. I'm just getting my pay backs in! 3. It's Disney! C'mon, we lose all common sense and decency when it comes to Walt Disney World!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Krista- No need to explain. I would tell my grandmother WDW was going to be closed for repairs if it meant that I could get to go when I wanted to.

Krista - you are evil! I LOVE IT! :rotfl:

I'll love it even more if we can really go, and that all of you WISHers will be there too! It would be the best birthday present ever!:goodvibes

Am I bad? There's a girl at my work in my dept who is talking about going to WDW the end of Oct. There can only be one person out of the office in my dept at a time and since Stephen and I are thinking about doing the race, I would need to be off the same week. I don't want to take the days off yet because I don't know for sure what we are doing, plus I'd have to take days I've already alloted for Christmas week and I don't want to give up those days until I know what we are doing. So I told my co-worker that it's really super hot in Florida in October, especially the end of October and not a great time to go. Is that bad?? :confused3 :confused3 pirate:

Don't forget to tell your co-worker that it is still hurricane season in October:rolleyes:

Krista- you are inspiring me...

Hmmm... get DH to go with us for RFTT because, you know, he likes the beer. Then try to pull some sort of "birthday present for my mom" trick for the night race so "we" aren't going twice in one month. After all, I need a birthday present for my mom regardless and it won't be that expensive (especially if I start hoarding secret cash now). I've taken my mom twice in the past so it's not unheard of... Plot thickens.

I bet everyone is thinking "sounds reasonable to me." We're just a pack of neon-wearing enablers! ;)

Hey that sounds like a plan!

I have added the ToT race to the family email that I send out daily to DH, my 4 kids, and the extended family. We countdown to birthdays, weddings, graduations, etc, any important event. Of course my "races" have been included. In case you were wondering......ToT 13K 207 days from today! Be there or be square. Isn't it funny how we are so excited about an unconfirmed event??

Krista - I fail to see the problem with what you are doing. ;)

Thanks for the support! I knew everyone would understand. :rotfl:

Robert--I did think about telling her that Oct is hurricane season, but I didn't want to jinx us!!! :wizard:

So, when is everyone going to MNSSHP???? ;)

We are baaaaad!!! We have the hotel room booked. I LOVE the idea of the tiara with the number on it. Think I can get a 30 on mine? There's gotta be someplace that will sell me one.

This is gonna be the best run! My trainer is going to run it. A co-worker is going to run it. It's gonna be great!! Can you tell I'm really psyched about this one!?!

:jumping1:

Oooohhh, must find the dates asap...

Here's us at MNSSHP on 10/27/05:

I make a great wench, if I must say so myself! :lmao:
And since this will be a budget trip, we will probably be wearing the same costumes (they cost a small fortune). Which stinks since pirates are even more the hot, in thing now than they were then. I hate being something too popular. Hmmm...maybe I can finally get Mom to make me the redheaded lady's dress.
You know... "we want the redhead!" :rotfl:

After some searching here and elsewhere...I found that "Last year Disney released the dates/price info (for MNSSHP) on April 17 and tickets went on sale the end of April." So, we should have some info soon then! I thought I remembered parties being Friday & Sunday nights. If so, I am leaning towards Sunday night.

I say to you, ha, ha , ha.

That of course is my Stanley Kowalski imitation, aimed directly at Steve from Cincinnati, the Steelers man, who shares his house with Hines Ward. YOU heckle me about bagging the Marine Corp Marathon and then consider doing this one (even if Krista says you are staying with MCM). Again, I say to you, ha, ha ha.

Lately I'm in an all black running mood, going for the Kiwi look. Yes, in my fantasy I have become an elite world class runner from New Zealand from the early 1980's. Wouldn't a set of Chernabog style wings go well with all black for the Halloween weekend run? The answer is of course YES. I can't remember, does the Villians store in the Studios sell wings? If not I'll have to look elsewhere.

I expect to see Krista there on Saturday night, and maybe Steve too.

This is a totally irresponsible and fun thing to do. I think from now on I'll apsire to be irresponsible, it sounds way more fun.

Craig

Craig...I agree..it's been a full moon lately...irresponsibility rules! :thumbsup2

Just think how nicely our dayglow WISH shirts will stand out at night ;) Maybe we could get those lime green glow necklaces

The Swan offers AP discounts??? Where can I find info on that?

I saw the AP discount both on the resorts thread for Swan & Dolphin discounts as well as mousesavers.com (can I mention that site?) I called their reservation number and asked. Fortunately those Oct dates were open. The kids think we're at Pop for the as-yet-unnamed 13K weekend. They may be disappointed with a "non-Disney" resort, but it's location, location, location...

Mel that is the greatest idea!!!! They have bracelets too don't they? Can wear one to illuminate my fave Green Bracelet! :)

And speaking of illuminate! if the race starts at 9 pm in MGM could it possibly be within a good view of Illuminations starting off? oh to be running thru Disney at night with Illuminations firing off, I'm getting shivers! LOL

i wanna be totally irresponsible too! i keep thinking of all the possible medals. bats, villians, pluto oh my! driving to work today i was thinking of calling and making a reservations for POP for 2 nights LMBO

Steve were there any AP historical rates forPOP? :lmao:

BTW, KRISTI you make a lovely wench but your entire family makes a very nice set of Pirates.

Yeah, I hear ya! That "other Steve" must feel like a pretty big dork right about now. Oh wait, ummmm....... :rolleyes1

Ok, so I might have caved in. It just sounds like such a great race. And I know I could run the Columbus marathon two weeks before, so I'd still get my fall marathon in.

I do feel bad for ditching Colleen and Sara at MCM, though. They'll probably hate us all (and I'm including you in that, Craig :) ). I'm still waiting to see what this "unannounced race" from Disney really involves. If it's anything like what we're all guessing it will be, then yeah, you may see Krista and I at the starting line. Still gotta work on those costume ideas....

The "other" Steve

Oh my gosh! I just read on Mouse Planet that there is a rumor that after the 13K you get to take a ride on the Tower of Terror! How awesome would that be???? So I guess the race ends in MGM? I would link the article, but I'm not sure if I can do that.

Oh man!
I am afraid of heights. I HATE that ride.... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Oh wait...after the race...I could skip that, right?
