NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

I received a $25 off $150 and was super excited, until I saw that they have excluded gift cards from this offer.

Hoping what you and @DVCjj received will not be the way forward.
I got $15 off $110 purchase. Very disappointed in Target this week. I'm hoping this isn't the norm now either. I'd rather have the rewards $ and gc's. I get crazy looks from the cashiers over my $1050 balance. 🤣

I was able to do this as well! Loved not having a ton of gift cards to manage. A great discount for us, because we buy most of our groceries at Cub.
That's great! I actually went back and bought $500 more... The service desk cashier asked if I just wanted to just use the gift cards instantly... Lol... So they sold it to me for $425 on the spot!

Safeway will have $10 off grocery coupons print on your receipt with $50 GC purchase including Disney cards according to photo below posted to Doctor of Credit today. Pretty sure it's one coupon per GC transaction but can be done multiple times in my experience. Promo 9/24-10/7. Works great with the $10 off $50 Safeway Amex offers going on right now which i was able to load to 6 different cards (x2 each) with the CardPointers extension. I personally don't buy gift cards on my Amex cards (will use Chase cards towards SUB) but I do my regular grocery shopping there.

I'll echo @Swimgirly that this is a timing game with the weekend points offers + the $10 coupon only being good for 7 days from issue. Go on Saturday or Sunday after clipping the 4x gift cards offer. Plus either have your groceries ready in a second transaction to immediately use the coupon, or only earn as many coupons you can feasibly use within a week.

It isn’t a change if it’s X off Y. It’s exactly how it’s worked for years.
You are right about that for @Good Ol Gal but I had asked if it was the type that allowed gift cards previously and was told yes so I was lumping them together.

Was this one of the ones that has you spend a certain amount in a transaction or over multiple transactions and then you earn a certain amount of Circle Rewards?

I FINALLY got an offer from Target [20% off one purchase, in store or online] but gift cards and tax aren't included in the total. Grrr... Wasn't there a time when Disney gift cards didn't scan as gift cards but were considered entertainment or travel, or am I thinking of something else? Of course, my local Target hasn't had Disney hard-cards for a while now, not sure what's up with that.

GCs have never worked on % off offers at Target.

There was a glitch once. Last year? Year before. Not sure. I didn’t have the coupon. But people were able to use in store. But yeah. Normally not gonna work.

Yes, there was glitch a year or two ago where for one or two days a % off coupon (it was either 15 or 20) was working on all gift cards, including Visa gift cards. The only other time a $ off worked on gift cards is they had $15 off $90 of electronics last year and it included prepaid phone cards.

I am going on a trip to DLR in a couple of weeks. I'm working on a welcome bonus for a credit card and want to get some gift cards for my trip. Would it be better to get disney gift cards or the regular visa gift cards?

If you do the Visa GCs, can you get them fee free as a result of a sale? I wouldn't be buying them if you're paying the activation fee versus DGC being fee free. I know the Staples fee free sales aren't for a couple of weeks, since Visa just happened...

Do you have to hit the welcome bonus before the trip? Only asking because you said the trip is in a couple of weeks, not sure how tight you are on the bonus time frame.

If you have to make prepayments, I would buy DGC for a bit less than what you expect you'll need so you don't end up saddled with extra Disney money you don't need to spend. I'd also see if there are any other expenses you can prepay now (can you call and pay a hotel early, can you switch to a prepaid rental car, etc) so that you're spending the real amounts you need to versus guessing on gift cards and accidentally overshooting.

I would agree with @TheOneWithTheTriplets as Fee free is the way to go so most likely Disney since multiple places sell them and hopefully one is a bonus category for the card you are working on.

This week, Office Depot and OfficeMax do you have master cards on sale when you buy $300 worth they will give you $15 off.

The fees are $8 a card so you would need to buy in groups of 3 $200 cards to net $6 off.

I have until the beginning of December to hit my bonus, so I could wait for the visa activation fee being waived, I am just seeing if there have been troubles with the visa gift cards and so getting DGC would be better

There are definitely known issues with using VGC. They are bad for places like gas stations and restaurants where they put a hold on the card that is higher than the actual amount that is charged. Either they may decline or the hold will take over a week to fall off. I've also had issues where random retailers (a local garden store where we buy our Christmas tree, a local theater group) just can't get the VGC to go through. It can also be annoying to finish them off because a lot of places have to charge the exact amount to get them to zero. Grocery Stores generally don't have that issue, so I bring all of my cards that need finishing to my weekly shopping trip, but I can see having them in Disney where you're dealing with a bunch of partial balances being super annoying.

That said, I use them a lot because I will buy them to hit bonus on a CIC to get the full 5% office supply store on top of hitting the bonus. I've got a ton right now as I just bonused a card during their last offering. If you know how to use them, I personally find it worth the hassle to get the additional percent back. But, I'm willing to tolerate probably more hassle than most, knowing that I get $10 in UR for each $200 VGC I have to deal with.

If you aren't very familiar with the ins and outs of VGCs you shouldn't touch them.

Be careful hitting your bonus like this, most issuers specifically exclude gift card purchases so when we do this most of us will try to add in a couple other items so the total doesn't blatantly scream "I bought a gift card" in case your bonus fails to post and you need to plead your case to the issuer. Now, the reality is gift cards will often still count towards the bonus as issuers don't tend to get high enough level data to know you're buying gc's. Sometimes gc won't even earn points- like office supply store purchases on Amex as Amex does get that level of data from office supply stores. What issuer are you playing around with here?

On such extremely short notice, you're not going to be finding great deals unless you get a lucky break in the next 2 weeks. You're probably looking at Sam's Club or BJ's as they are the only ones who always sell Disney gift cards at a discount and even then it's like what 5%? Is that really worth bothering with for you when you can just hit your spend by using your cc in park?

Does anyone know... if I use my Disney VISA at the Food&Wine kiosks, will the charge be eligible for the PayYourselfBack option when the bill comes in?

I haven't gotten a good Target Circle deal SINCE I signed up for the 1 year free membership that I 'earned'. I regularly got $30 when spending $300, $15 when spending $150, etc. Now I get "$5 off if you buy a bunch of clothes!".

I bought one yesterday and the $10 coupon is valid until 10/14. Zift Zillions (Amazon, Airbnb, Southwest, Lyft, Home Depot...) is 10x points through Saturday (12x on Saturday), but as many as I plan on buying it's not feasible for me to wait and do all on the weekend. I stock up on things I can use for a while with the coupons. Including the sign up bonus on the card I'm using this is like 50% back. I leave for a vacation on 10/2 so my timeline is a little tighter.

Same here. And the Target Circle 360 has not been all that and a bag of chips. There's nothing that Target has that I need same day delivery on, so why use it and then have to tip the delivery person? I can order free shipping and get pretty much anything in 2 days.
