I can’t say for certainty since I havent boughten an AP but I think it’s really things like concerts, comedy shows. I bought tickets to a very large established place where I live that has museums, carnivals etc. it did not qualify for the 5%

I think this category is really iffy since it’s really how the venue codes itself. I bought tickets to a well know comedian and the local venue coded as education. Same venue, I just bought tixs for the Blippi show to take my son to and it coded as personal.

BJs now has Southwest $500 for $429 (limit 5) and $20 dollars cheaper than the latest Costco deal.

Got 3 for our trip in December. Costco link is no longer valid.

Did anyone have issues with any gift cards bought during Amazon Prime Day? I bought a digital $50 Bath and Body Works for $40, added it to my Apple Wallet and haven't used it. When I went to the store today, it said $0 balance. I chatted with Amazon and they said they would contact the seller to re-send, but I don't know if that will be successful or not. I can't even tell on the order who the seller was.

I hope your experience is better than mine. I bought a $100 Lyft GC from Amazon on Black Friday for $80 that had no value and never got it. amazon CS is the Worst.

Just wanted to mention, if you can get a Viator 15% code to generate for you, it will work still for discounts on Disney tickets. Might be worth creating a new email address for example with Google or Yahoo.

These Just 4 U offers for 4x on gift cards have been popping up as Sat/Sun only offers pretty much every weekend since July...

Obviously no guarantees that this will continue to occur. But for myself as Safeway is my typical grocery spot, I will likely be checking for this offer each Saturday morning and avoid weekday gift card purchases just in case. They do higher offers with better payouts on specific brands periodically, but this is a quick way to bridge the gap to the higher redemption tiers in the Just4U rewards.

I got an e-mail from Viator offering 20% for referring people. I referred DH and got the 15% coupon. Bought 1 Universal ticket thinking I'd buy the rest with the 20%. The referral tracked, but it's pending. Now I'm wondering if I only get the coupon after the travel date? Do you know?

Does anyone know if the AMEX offer has worked for gift cards at Target? I would like to use my AMEX to buy (3) $50 gift cards in individual transactions from Target (online) and I am wondering if it will actually credit. The 10% off is better than the 5% through Target....but only if it works. The T&C's of the offer say that it excludes gift cards...but we all know that YMMV. I'm just wondering if anyone has successfully redeemed this offer on gift cards.

I purchased a $50GC using ApplePay with Target on 9/5/24. The transaction with Amex just changed from Pending to Posted today. I have not received a $5 credit yet, but it sometimes takes Amex a few days after posting for the credits to post. I will let you know if I receive the $5 credit.

I regret buying my MNSSHP via Viator on a deal. It eventually all worked out for me when my event was rained out and I was given a refund via DGC but I got the distinct impression it almost didn’t work out due to it being a 3rd party ticket. In the future I will pass the 3rd party deals and buy straight from Disney in case something goes haywire and they offer a refund.

Last nights party definitely went on- but as a poster on the MNSSHP thread alluded to, it wasn’t a party. There was no party atmosphere, no happy people. Even when prepared getting drenched can take that happiness from your sails. And I’m pretty sure the CMs could only see the end of their evenings being angry guests mad at them over things they couldn’t control anyway while standing there drenched themselves. Who can even pretend to be happy looking forward to that? MK did fireworks as those are only cancelled for lightening and the lightening had stopped by then. But it rather poured until like 11pm and no other things happened aside from trick or treating (which was in itself a bit harder as the rain made seeing stuff hard).

I had dismissed party tickets as a sunk cost if something like last night happened but with Disney showing some graciousness I want to keep my odds higher in the future of a good outcome in case something unfortunate happens

No if that was the offer you would just need to buy $100 DGC in a transaction and do it 3 times. You can do it within minutes at self check out or one of the cashiers

Yes in that case buy $125 DGC in 1 transaction and do it 4 times.
Sometimes you can combine with other cards like @Liquidice and double dip.

Got an email today with some new AMEX offers, thought this one might be useful to purchase some DGCs... This was on my Marriott Bonvoy AMEX.

Would be good if you could combine it with another DGC discount, such as BJ's (I don't think Sam's Club takes Apple Pay?), but you'd probably have to buy a $75 DGC which then reduces the overall discount.

For example, if you bought a $25 and $50 DGC at BJ's to hit the $50 threshold, your overall discount would be around 9% off. ($72.98 before discount - $5 or $67.98 for $75 worth of DGCs which is only about 9.36% off.
