New Discounts 8-16-10

So we are going to be staying at Pop in Feb from the 7th to the 19th. If it is free dining I'm expecting it to be counter service of course. What my question would be is can I pay the difference to receive the next level up? :confused3

We have always had the DDP with table service, the last 2 times I was able to get a pin code to receive it. I have already booked and made my ressies so I need to have table service.

I believe the current offer allows you to pay an additonal $10/day per adult to upgrade to the DDP. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken but I remember reading that somewhere.

are you talking about going from 1 table service to 3 table services? is only 10 a day per person?

I know how they can boost merchandise sale... quit the homogenizing of all the merchandise, go back to unique items at most of the shops and create some better things.

I got this from touring plan's website blog:

With Disney reporting advance hotel bookings down 9% earlier this week, it’s not surprising we hear a new round of discounts will hit the streets this Monday, August 16.

Word is that there will be three discounts. And before we get to those, let’s remember that this is all speculation and innuendo, told by people of questionable moral character. It’s entirely possible we’re completely wrong.

First discount is an extension of free dining, through September 2011. This comes with a considerable number of blackout dates, including Spring Break, Easter and most of Summer 2011.

Second discount is some kind of gift card offer, with a 5- or 6-night minimum stay. We hear sales of park merchandise are slow, and this is designed to address that. No idea how long this offer will last.

Third offer is a room-only discount, something like 20 or 25% off value resorts (and either AKL or WL – not sure which), 30% off moderates (and one of the MK deluxe resorts), and 40% off the remaining deluxes. We hear there are fewer blackout dates on this one. Not sure of how long this offer will last, but it’s possible it’s good only through March 2011.

Good luck to those of you who’ve booked and may qualify.popcorn::

Sending pixie dust to all!! I know I will be stalking the disney website and DIS boards :surfweb:

no, it is $10 per peorson per day to go form QSDP to the 1 table serivce plan. I thikn it is more like $30 per person per day to go to deluxe for regular.

Yay for discounts! BUT I have a big question. My DS is getting married this weekend and their cruise returns to FL August 28th. He just found out he does not have to return to work until the week after Labor Day so my mom wants me to arrange 5 days at WDW(Aug 28- Sept 2) for them as a wedding gift. Have I missed dates for the summer discounts? The Disney site says you can book the discounts until Oct. 2nd, but it won't let me. Any ideas?

My travel dates are for 10/14-18. I could not get the FD offer since my datesa were blacked out. Does anyone have any idea if the same black out dates are going to apply to the new discounts? I can understand turkey/xmas, but I was not happy about being blacked out.

Junebug - I tried it too and it didn't work. I'd call and ask for discount code ID6 (from the MouseSavers site for stays from 8/15 to 10/02). It should be 30% off value or moderate and 40% off selected deluxe and deluxe villas.

I assume there must be a glitch in their system since *hopefully* they are uploading new discounts! pixiedust:

Okay here's my question. As a long time DisneyLAND visitor, but a soon-to-be first time WDW visitor, things are completely different!

I have a standard room booked at CSR over marathon weekend. When I checked later, there were no more standard rooms available there. If they really do come out with room discounts tomorrow (here's hoping! :goodvibes), and my dates aren't blocked out, will I still be able to add the discount to my reservation, even though there aren't any more rooms?

Also, if I call, can I check and book AP rates (if there are any) if I don't have an AP yet?

Sparrow: it used to be years ago, they modified a ressie and added a discount. Now I think they rebook the room. They should have a way to apply the discount somehow.

Not usually - they offer discounts to book unbooked rooms. If there are still rooms available - you can frequently change and apply the discount. If there are no rooms - you are usually out of luck.

You do not need to have an AP in hand to book. Have to have it at check in!

Feb 21st is presidents day. that would be peak season as most schools, at least up north, are off that week.

We live in Michigan and most Public schools here "up north" only get Presidents day off (2-21-11) Not the entire week. my kids attend a Catholic school and they do not observe it at all.

Call to make reservations if you are having problems online.

i know we have to book a totally new ressie, and cancel the other...

so what would you do?
book online with the new discoutns, then call in later int eh day when the lines are buys, and you've had plenty of coffee to cancel the other?

will be down 12/22-12/28 this year at WL w/room pkg/dining plan......I'm not a lucky person :guilty: so I my luck will be that nothing will be applicable for me:guilty::guilty:..keeping my fingers crossed though and hoping my TA will email me with good news tomorrow:woohoo:
