New DING deal almost worked out!

Five of us are driving down from NC next week for our spring break...lo and behold $34 each way SW DING popped up this morning but only could get good fare for our departure day (fares down still high, availability almost nil at any price)...so I even plugged in renting a mini-van from here, dropping it off the next day in Orlando, and then flying home...Could have done all that for right at $550!!! But, here's what kept me from doing it...only flight that I could get home leaves MCO at 7 am...DME would pick us up at 4 am...so really only about 3 1/2 hours saved versus driving by the time you figure getting to and from airports. Factor in cranky teens rolled out of bed before dawn and, well, the trade-off is just not worth it. Still driving. But these are some great fares if they happen to fit your plans!
