Not sure if this has been posted!

Here's a great new offering for families assigned to second dining! The Dine and Play program allows children to get their meals quicker and adults to check-in a child for Youth Activities without leaving the dining room.

Dine and Play
Available on both the Disney Magic® and Disney Wonder® Cruise Ship.
Offered during second dining in any of the main dining rooms - Animator’s Palate, Lumieres, Tritons and Parrot Cay.
Open to children ages 3-12.

Here's how it works: You arrive in the dining room and inform the server that your child would like to participate in Dine and Play. The dining room team brings the child's meal first while serving the adults at a more leisurely pace.

About 45 minutes after seating begins, Youth Activities Counselors arrive in the dining room and sign in the child to their respective groups in Disney's Oceaneer Club or Disney's Oceaneer Lab, eliminating the need for you to escort your child to Deck 5.

Adults are then able to enjoy the full dining experience with the knowledge that their child is having a great time in a safe, fun and comfortable environment!!!

Wow, thanks for this information. :thumbsup2
We might just take advantage of this.

I assume we will be able to find out each day what the activity would be? so we can make that decision?

Where did you get this information? I have to ask this because this program was tried for 30 days on the Magic and then was discontinued per CMs as of May 10. I just want to make sure that it is not outdated info. When someone called the 800 DCL number the CM was told that they were not permitted to even discuss it with guests anymore. Thanks.

Yes..it was in a trial phase but has now been made official!!

There is no activity per say however they will be brought to the kids clubs on deck 5...that way Mom and Dad don't have to leave the restaurant to bring the kids up. Nice and convenient!!:thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear this and hope it is true that this is now official! Don't know for sure if we'll use it but would like to have it if needed since we have late dining.

Does that mean that you have been told this by the 800 number CMs, recent cruise, DCL website? The more reliable source is usually recent experience onboard. I just need to confirm this before adding it to the FAQ thread. Thanks.

Someone on our June 13th meet thread posted the same info and said it was on the Disney TA website info. HTH. :thumbsup2

It would be wonderful if they decided to continue this program. l Know my family would take full advantage of it!!!:cool1::cool1:

My good friend just returned from the Magic on Saturday and she said this was offered each evening. I don't know how permanent it is but as of Friday night is was still being offered. :)

Thank you! That is more recent than the May 10 cancellation. :)

This is fabulous news!!!!!! We are cruising in 10 days so I will be loving this for DS who is 5 and does not enjoy long dinner.... We have always done late seating and loved it and now it is even better!:thumbsup2

What a great option! Too bad they aren't doing it during the first seating...maybe they will incorporate it after a while.

It is something that we have always done on our own in early seating. The servers always bring the kid's meals out before the adult's and the kids are finished with desert before the adult entrees come out. One of us just ran the kids upstairs to the club and was back in a couple minutes. Last cruise DS had sign in/out privs and just excused himself when he was finished and went on his own.

This is good news. I was a little disapointed when people were reporting that the test was over and they were not continuing with it. We are wait listed for main dining. I feel a little better if we have this option now if we have to stay with late seating.

this amounts to pure seating discrimination.
What is offered to one set of people cruising needs to be offered to all!
Those of us with main seating would still like the ability to have a meal without the kids. Why are our needs any different?
