Isn't it a shame that the most creative place on the planet is selling the same design on their mugs for the second year? I decided to make designs to put on my family's mugs. I designed a refillable mug carrier out of Disney fabric, some out of pack cloth. It has a pocket for the park pass, fastpass, resort key card, ID, or cash, and it has an adjustable shoulder strap, as well as a tab to keep the lid locked while you are carrying it so the drink doesn't get all over you. Please take a look and tell me what you think? THANKS!

That is sooo cool! I love the pocket idea and with the different fabrics no one will get their cups mixed up.

I'm going to move this thread up to the arts and crafts section of the Creative Community, there are more seamstresses up there.

That is a great idea! I love that they can all be different, it's hard tyring to remember who's is who's by the lid color.:rolleyes1

:flower3: Thank you so much for your encouragement! I needed to do a Disney lover test to see if they were as good as I thought. I guess it passed. Now I just need to come up with a comfortable price. Anyone have a suggestion for a reasonable price? I can't really go below $10. or I would be giving them away, because of the time and materials it takes to make one. I would love advice from any crafter who is having success right now. The market has really tanked for craft items on the auction sites.

Hello there! I believe the rule of thumb for comming up with a price point for your product when doing a craft item is...

Take your total cost-

The amount of time you spend on it x the minimum you'd like to be paid per hour.

Then add both.

That should be your minimum. Then you can raise it as you see fit.. like if they sell well, and you'd like to buy different fabrics and branch out a bit raise your prices...

Example...

I made a necklace and it cost me $ 10.00 in supplies.

I spend 1/2 an hour on it and I pay myself a minimum of 10.00's an hour. So I'd pay myself $5.00 dollars for my time.

Subtotal would be $15.00

I would probably sell this necklace for $20.00, therefore making a $5.00 dollar profit.

This is the rule of thumb for lots of professional handcrafted artists. You get to set your own prices of course, but don't undersell yourself!

Very cool! Those are a wonderful idea! :thumbsup2

I price things the same way that AlyssinWonderland explained! Once you get your $ per hour figured out, the pricing starts getting pretty easy!
