Gee . . . I don't remember telling anyone that my design could be made into earrings and sold for a profit

I, along with all the other generous designers on this board, make these designs so DISers can make items for personal use only . . . not to make a quick buck

I'm shocked at the lack of ethical and moral resposibility!!

This is clearly abuse of the generosity of the designers who make this place a fun and creative corner of the DIS! Shame!!

Holy crap - you mean this entire board is in danger of being shut down because somebody wants to sell COPYRIGHTED designs on EBay? And they swiped a design somebody else made to do so? That is so wrong.

Maria, I'm sorry your designs were used that way. You've been so generous to so many here. This is making my stomach turn.

Kristine, you've been just as generous - as have all the designers here. The designs are for personal use only, or so I thought.

I looked at this persons previous sales and the earrings aren't the only thing with that design.

Oh my! I'll admit that I've taken designs from here & changed the names myself for my family to wear just so I wouldn't have to bother the designer's with it. I would never have even thought to try to make a profit from it though! I am so sorry that this is happening & I hope that it can be taken care of w/o this board getting into trouble. You all are wonderful inspirations! I've actually designed a few shirts and would love to help make more. The problem is that I do all of mine on microsoft word, so there's no way to save them as pictures to show & share. Thanks again for all you do though & I hope that this problem gets taken care of.

Did the Creator Take off her designs in fear of them being stolen? I was just wanting to see them but all that there is are periods. Maria-I never realised that that design was yours and I didn't know that you didn't know about it being used for a profit. We saw it over on the cruise board quite a while ago and were truly sad that someone would do that. Also there was a door sign created for the Mediterranean Cruise up for sale too (it was very nice but for 30 bucks I thought I could find something better from one of you!)

I don't mind if my designs are being used for ANYTHING at all . . . you don't need to ask . . . as long as it is for personal use WITHOUT profit! I make them so people can use them freely for themselves and their loved ones. I'm confident that this is the intention of many of the designers on this board.

It is just very disheartening when someone tries to make money off of something that is not theirs.


If I didn't want DISers to use my work for fun, personal projects, I would put a watermark on the designs or make them really really small so that they would be hard to enlarge with any amount of quality.


Please use them . . . don't sell them!!
