New Departure time for Key West

Starting on November 6, the Disney Magic will begin leaving Key West at 7:30pm.

Currently, the ship departs Key West at 10:15pm.

I noticed this the other day. My shore excursion confirmation stated 10:00 departing Key West. Yet my documents stated 7:30pm. Do you know why the change?

I wonder if DCL determined that they were losing too much bar revenue to bars in Key West?

My guess is that everyone wants to stay for the sunset celebration. After daylight savings time ends, they might as well leave because the sun will be down by then. Maybe they'll change it back next spring.

Maybe it is related to the need to have more time to get to the next destination with the hurricane damage, etc. to Grand Cayman which would have normally been the next stop and one which we would arrive just before the scheduled tender times normally. It would take longer to get to Costa Maya I would think and they may now be realizing that.

No explanation accompanied the notice. You have some interesting theories, but ya' never know about that mouse. He can act in some mysterious ways.
